Congrats on your purchase Moha, its a nice sounding setup, hope you dont mind the drone though, because with any setup offered, it has it.
I'm with you, big Red. Love the rolled tip, and went the the best of both worlds 'n added the F.I. H.F.C.'s.

After thinking about it more I can see how you might pick up some weight in the front section. Base/Sport/Touring models have a Y pipe not a dual there. The Nismo exhaust and most aftermarket that are full cat-back will have a X or H pipe which will weight a little more due to more piping.

I was surprised to see the weight of the stock at 54, I'm guessing thats due to the single Ypipe. I measured the NISMO at 66 LBS and the HKS at 60 LBS. It's a weight savings for me

I'm fairly new to this forum and this is my first reply. I installed a Stillen Cat-back and Berk HFCs. Stillen because it is not lower than stock and Berk because they are OBDII compliant. The sound is not quiet, for me, and I would not want it any louder. Fitment on the Stillen is poor, at best. The left tip was perfectly centered and the right tip was inboard one half inch. Also, the tips are not equal fore and aft. The mechanic who installed the system said there is no adjustment, so I took it to a custom exhaust specialist of 34 years. He was able to heat and tweek the hangers to get the tips equally misaligned. Fore and aft, no. The other option was to cut and reweld the tips, which I didn't do yet.

Stillen's answer was "sorry, you mounted and ran the exhuast, we will not take it back." So basically their return policy is, if you don't like the way it looks in the box, send it back. Thanks, Max and Chuck at Stillen. Pesonally I will no longer support Stillen for their lack of support regarding their product.

I am also sorry my first reply is negative feedback. I've been following this forum since March of this year and purchased my 2010 370Z in May. I do like this forum and love my Z.

Regards,
A typical Stillen answer.

Welcome to the forum.

Not to get off topic:

In fact I brought the base model 010, 370Z, AT bone stock without any of the packages , with weight concerns in mind.

I owned a 08, 350Z Touring loved the car, but I felt it was too heavy for my taste ; the idea of Nissan making the 370Z lighter was a step in the right direction IMO!

What I didn’t want to do is load up the car, with none performance stuff which would bring the cars weight right back up again.

I felt with the base AT bone stock I would be able to pick the mods and control how much weight I wanted in the car and wind up with a lighter Z car at the end of the day.

It’s interesting my base AT bone stock ,weighs 37 lb more than a bone stock 6MT, but 10 to 43 lbs less than some of the touring and 31 lbs less than a Nismo.

I guess I‘ll be over my bone stock curb weight of 3,269 lb + 11lbs Stillen CBE, over stock CBE total 3,280 lbs.

When I swap out my stock HFC for Berks I’ll shed 7 lbs. then I’ll be at 3,273 lbs. , I also plan on swapping out my Stillen “Y” pipes for Tanabe “Y” pipes may shed some weight off there too.

That's it no more burrito's !

Alex

Yup,

The F.I. will make your "Z" shed some pounds.

Dave, when are your F.I. CBE due, are you tracking yet , who’s doing the install?

Good luck with them, they are sexy looking exhaust!

Enjoy,

Alex

I'm hoping it will ship in a couple of weeks. I'm doing the install in my driveway. The last time I did a CBE install it was about 5 degrees outside and it took me all weekend because of one stinking cat bolt.

More on topic, I seriously considered Stillen for an aftermarket exhaust, but decided I wanted something a bit louder. Then I fell in love with the FI tone and volume. So many good options out there for the Z.

Stillen is still one of the best exhausts for our car, no matter how much misinformation is given and snide remarks are made by the haters on this board.

Dave,I see the demon bolt has claimed another victim!!

I’m not that handy, don’t have the tools, lift or jack stands, don’t know if I would want to invest in one time project, not the change the oil yourself type. “lol”

That being said, a lot of great things have been accomplished in driveways!

My exhaust is due tomorrow, at which time I plan on unpacking it and looking very carefully at the parts.

My Nissan dealership will be doing the install the following day, they have always done well for me but they are not cheap!

Stay tuned, I’ll let you know how I made out with the install.

What you don't realize is, with the price of paying Nissan to install your CBE, you can buy all the tools you would ever need for all your bolt on modding, and have plenty of ca$h in hand.

Nissan wanted $450 to install my Nismo S-Tune suspension. All the tools for doing the job and more are around $150 and did it myself. (Harbor Freight floor jack was $80--a must have!)

For a CBE install you are looking at around $75-$100 in tools! (Mostly floor jacks/ramps)

I appreciate your comments, you know I went around a few of the auto repair and speed shops in my general area to inquire about doing some mods mostly bolt on work and I just could not bring myself to trust anyone messing around with my new car including myself except Nissan or my Infiniti dealer.

That being said, I’m sure your right, on the savings and satisfaction of doing it yourself!
I will certainly think on it, thank you,
Alex
