Reviving an old thread...

Those that are considering nitrous, where were you thinking of mounting the bottle?

If I did it, probably in the spot behind the passenger seat. Either that, or just mount it directly center of the car right behind the bar behind the seats. Of course, you could take your spare out and theres TONS of room under there to hide it and put a remote bottle opener on it...

I'm not completely sure on this, but don't bottles have an optimum mounting angle?

Angled with the valve up, and the valve twords the front of the car.

But, I ran mine valve up, and the valve to the side of the car in my 2000 with no issues at all. Valve up is the most important Im fairly sure.

Nitrous sounds fun, but I'm not willing to take those kinds of risks on my 370. Aside from the risks when everything is working flawlessly (just getting the tune and the shot right so that you don't destroy stuff) there are so many risks from minor failures, hence all the safety devices like throttle switches, fuel pressure switches, window switches and all that jazz. It's just not great odds. Would I do it to a 70's musclecar rebuild project that I had a few grand in? Hell yes. My new 370Z? Hell no.

I'm inclined to agree with you on this one. I would only consider nitrous if I was staying NA and never going FI. If i was driving with twin snails and a 100 shot I'd be so nervous everytime the engine maybe even the slightest weird sound. Even staying NA, I would spare no expense to make sure the set up was as "bullet-proof" as possible.

I just like the idea of cheap, fast power, but we all know where that road often leads.

Nitrous can be perfectly safe when used with the proper safety measures in place.

However, this all begs one big question - this car was designed to be a fine handling sports car....why would you want to turn it into a drag queen?

agree with the folks who don't think this is a big deal. I probably wouldn't go over a 75 shot myself, but these systems aren't like they were 10+ years ago. Much safer

/\ hahahaha. Just the one I was thinking of.

I would wait till there was a tuning devise. No flash that a tuner can contol. I bet a 370 on N20 would rip and shock many..

I would get NAWWZ but I doubt I would use it more than a few times...

There aren't many times I think to myself "I need to go really fast for a really short amount of time!"
