Thought I would add to this since this thread helped me make my selection. Just put on the Berk CBE with K&N drop-ins. It's no where close to being this loud inside the car. I have another video from inside the car that I will post later.

So far I'm loving the sound of this exhaust.

Default Exhaust Tip Location

Last Thursday, I finally installed my Berk CBE and I must say the fit and sound are truly amazing. To me, it was the perfect choice. Now, I have a question or two. If you look at the attached photos, you'll notice that the tips protrude past the rear end by a little bit. In all of the photos that I have seen, the tips look like they are more flush, like the stock ones. Is it possible that the "y" pipe or resonators are installed upside-down? I don't think so, as the exhaust went on in about 1-1/2 hours (old one off and new one on by myself) and everything lined up perfectly. Is this a case of tolerances where mine is a little different. I don't really mind the look, but I am just comparing mine to what I have seen (only online, nothing in person) so I am curious. Has anyone else run into this?

Any help is appreciated.

Yup, mine is the same way. I had my berk and cnt installed a month ago and it does protrude more than all the pics on this thread.

Thanks for the response. Maybe there are some manufacturing differences from ours to the ones online.
Thanks again.

They stopped making these with adjustable tips right? There's a pretty simple fix if they are adjustable.

This is the response that I got back from Bryan @ Berk a few days ago when I asked about installation and the tip length:

"I don't think you can install them upside down as I believe they would only go in one way. Tip length should be about a fingers/thumb width. If you have one of our older systems they are about 2 fingers width past the bumper."

So, the newer ones do not have adjustable tips, so they do stick out a little bit. Mine is one finger width past the bumper and the more I look at it, the better I like it.

Hopefully, I can get the HFC's soon to compliment the sound and power of the CBE.

I would definately recommend hfcs with the berk. The sound is very intoxicating and very addictive. The sound is more "raw"

I took her for a spin and there is a definite sound difference under load. Plus the butt dyno was pretty happy. I can't wait to get my exhaust installed now! I will post pictures later
I've already insalled the CBE and now I have the HFCs on order, so I am like a little kid at Christmas . I have a question about the "Devil or Demon Bolts". How many of them are removed from the top and how many from the bottom? I am also looking at the diagram in the manual, and it looks like there is a combinations of bolts, nuts and studs . Did you spray the bolts from the top or the bottom as well? I want to try and prepare mentally for the removal of these fasteners and try to anticipate all of the tools I will need as I will be using my tools, but a friends lift. It only took me an hour by myself to install the CBE, so I am hoping it is about the same for the cats. Lastly, are all of the old fasteners reused with the new CBE?

Jeeez, with all these questions, maybe I'll have my local Nissan Dealer do the installation .

Any help is appreciated.

Bump...still looking for information on the demon bolts. If anyone has a photo of the old cat so I can see the fasteners, it would be appreciated. Really, all I need to know is what kind of fasteners are used and how many: bolts and nuts, studs and nut or whatever combinations there are.

Also, I called the my Nissan dealer and he said that they are not allowed to install the cats, because of any possible warranty issues that may arise in the future, especially when it comes to the EPA and the Feds.

There are three on each cat. Two bolts and a stud. The one that gives most trouble is the top one that is accessible from above. PB Blaster is the preferred loosening agent. But you still may have trouble. Just douse all three once a day for a few days.

My passenger side came out without a problem. Not so much for the driver side.
Here is my thread about it:Why is it always the LAST *@#$& BOLT!?!

And here are a few more from the search function: Nissan 370Z Forum - Search Results
