STILLEN 370Z Dual Cat-Back Stainless Exhaust System

Awesome. I wonder how much weight they drop over the stock setup.

Test pipes are essentially just pipes with nothing in them. In other words, you're taking out the cats entirely and have nothing to filter out the pollutants. Test pipes are not street legal, fyi. Not that I have anything against them per se. I had Kinetix test pipes on my 350. But this time around, I've decided to go with HFCs and stay 'clean'. Think of HFCs as a compromise in between full-blown test pipes and restrictive stock HFCs. Stillen does not currently have HFCs available for the 370. However, Berk and Kinetix do. If you look at the thread on the Berk HFCs, you'll see that they alone yield up to +19whp, and they alone give you a much nicer exhaust note. Here's the link to DD's group buy thread, which includes the dyno results and the sound clip video:

DDMotorsports: Berk Tech High Flow Cat/Test Pipe Group Buy!

I've decided to get both the Stillen exhaust as well as the Berk HFCs. That should really open up the sinuses, so to speak. Then once I get the CAI put on, we'll really be in business!
Semtex,

Are you going to dyno your car after the mods are in place? I'd like to do the same setup but am not too committed until I see the results/benefits. Perhaps one of the Venders who sales all the parts can do a dyno session and post the incremental results...........might motivate some additional purchases?

I'd really love to hear some clips of this catback with the berk hfcs. Semtex, gonna break out the video camera for us?

Well even on previous cars I have driven such as G35's and 350z's which had the Stillen dual with test pipes, sounded great and were not obnoxiously loud and drony as other exhausts.

In my opinion it will not be drony with the dual and hfc's. It should sound awesome

With the stock exhaust and the HFC's our 370z sounds great when you get on it and stock when you are cruising. The Stillen won't be too loud

Been thinking about this, actually. Problem is, I don't have a decent video camera. One thing I've never really gotten into is taking video. I have an old Hi-8 camera that I hardly ever touch. I could use it, and it'd take good quality video -- but how do I get it from the tape into the computer? Do modern cameras use SD cards or something that I can just transfer files off of like a digital camera? Oh wait.....my digital camera takes video. Maybe that's all I need to use? Not sure how the sound quality will be though. I guess I could experiment later and find out.

Not sure if I want to go through the hassle and expense. I guess I can look into it. I'm not even sure where to go around here for a dyno.

Is this whole exhaust 304ss, or just the tips?

I'm assuming the whole exhaust is, but I want to know for sure before I go dropping 1500 large on it.

Yeah i think the stillen tips would be much more attractive if they were shaped to the body.

I honestly don't understand why some of you are making such a fuss about angled exhaust tips. Even the Nismo exhaust doesn't have angled tips. Here's a pic of Minicobra's Z, and he has the Nismo exhaust. Don't get me wrong; angled tips would be a nice touch. It just seems like such a minor, petty little thing to be griping about to me. Want some cheese with your whine, guys?

Having said that though -- Josh and/or Kyle, do you guys have a side/quarter shot like the one below of the new Stillen exhaust? I think it'd help a lot of guys out to see it from that angle.

Yeah, I prefer these tips to the stock angled ones.

Now, one thing that I am a little iffy on is how far the tips of the Stillen exhaust jut out. If you look a the video on p.1, it looks like they come out further than the Nismo or stock. It might still look okay, but without a side shot, it's hard to tell. Of course, I've already taken the plunge with ordering one of these, so I guess I'll find out soon enough! Would still be nice to see a side-angle pic though. If all else fails, I'll post one after I get mine installed for everyone else's benefit.

Are they adjustable? My Mustang's were, but then again that car had mid-mounted mufflers.
