Would you like to see Tomei make a titanium exhaust for the 370z?
Hi guys and gals,
Vivid Racing deals direct with Tomei and I talk to them all the time about exhausts and what cars they are marketing to. They released a titanium exhaust for the evo X with great success. They hope to do so with the evo 8/9. I asked about the 350 and 370 but Tomei said they don't know because they believe it will not sell. I would like to see if that is true. There is a prototype for the 350z that has leaked, we were supposed to get all the information but some of it has come out already. I want to know if the 370z community will want this exhaust and it is pretty much up to all of you if the exhaust ever comes out. This thread will be watched by me and Tomei to see its progress. Sooooo... Would you like to see Tomei make a titanium exhaust for the 370z? Thanks, Phil |
Honestly, I think if we get acn a ballpark pricing estimate, this will be a much easier decision to make. My guess though is that the price will put it in a niche market.
its all about the price point and performance gains it has to be one or the other, haha or the perfect combo of both
i'd rock a Tomei exhaust! maybe they need a US version test fit...
I'd definitely be in. I already thought they were making one after they designed the one for the Evo X? The cost and build quality was awesome for the price. If they made something with an X-pipe rather than the stock Y-pipe I'd definitely be interested.
I'm curious as to why they are even asking when they are the primary Nismo dealer in the US :P |
Tomei struck gold with that exhaust for the CZ4A. I don't see why they can't knock it out of the park again with a Z34 setup. They make quality products and the prices usually aren't that bad either. I would definitely enjoy seeing Tomei give the Z34 some love.
I'd be in...I know Tomei dealer here... :D
I'd be interested to see what they can do. Like said Price points are a big factor right now.
interested too, but TI = not accessible for 95% of 370z owners. Tomei stuff is great quality, but not cheap to start with.
if they would make it for less than 3 grand, sure why not. These japanese companies are ludicrous with their pricing.
nope too expensive

RCZ- the Expreme exhaust for the Evo X (which is currently the only version available on the market) is made out of full titanium and retails for less than $1300. I'm not expecting that it will end up being priced identically to the Evo X application, but it will probably end up being priced in line with other exhausts currently on the market. http://www.dentsport.com/wp-content/...ti-primary.jpg |
The evo one is a single pipe, the Z will need dual. You KNOW they are going to double that price. :(
On a brighter note, looks awesome! |
Thus far I know that Top Secret is putting a few titanium exhaust on project mothra and I believe GTHaus offers their exhaust in both SS and Ti versions (super expensive). I would love a full Ti exhaust but it's probably going to be around Powerhouse Amuse prices for their Ti exhausts. Chances are if they make a Ti exhaust they will have to compete for a niche is what is already an exclusive and small market.

Does TOMEI have a plan for cam's?

Last time I called them they did say it was "in development". I'm not holding my breath as its not as simple as making both the intake and exhaust cam like other applications. So far the only simple cam is probably on the exhaust side, but in order to unlock the full potential of the head you also need to develop shims for the intake side (relatively simple) and unlock the VVT system (not possible ATM). The VVT system has proven to be either very difficult to unlock OR most tuners have been shying away because of the relatively small profits compared to cost of developing such a system. |
only interested if price is reasonable.. 2500 or less and gains are worth it.

350z Tomei Expreme prototype
id love if they made a single for a 370z for a reasonable price!!
make one please
:iagree:

I really like the full TI single side Expreme they just came out with for the BRZ/FRS. I bet it would be so much lighter and look a lot like the NISMO Z-RC packaged cars. For hard core track it leaves room for diff/trans coolers too. There's a few Youtube vids of 370's claiming to have this exhaust, I'm guessing they modified the Z33 version to fit because one of them looks like it hangs out way to far to have been made by Tomei.

If they make a single exit exhaust that sells for less than 1k, I'll buy in a heart beat.
3.5- 4in single exit would rule with a y pipe that matches. I hate the only option for a single exit is Amuse or custom |

Price and performance is what it all boils down to.
Jeez ...
3.5" single would be perfect. Also, a catalytic converter section in the exhaust tip like on the Nismo RC would be cool too.
If they made a single exit exhaust that was affordable say $2,500 and under, which is likely if its single exit, then I would be all for it.
