Borla Stingers ftw. Had them on my Mustang.

Borla & Magnaflow were the two best for the Mustangs back when. Seems like these days everyone runs SLPs on their 05+.

I couldn't stand the SLP's. They sounded like a hillbilly muffler with no refinement. The Magnaflow Magnapack, Borla Stingers, and Corsa mufflers were the best for the new Mustangs.

Holy off topic batman!

My friend got his magnaflow's on his gen. coupe 4 months ago and he's selling them now.
Sounds alright, probably not much better than stock...
It does have quad tips though!
:D
Do you hear any hissing?

Agreed. I didn't really care much for the Magnapacks, though. I like the regular Magnaflows... much smoother. I ran a VRS off-road X pipe and Magnaflow CBE on my 2003 GT and it sounded sooooo good.

The two valves sound good no matter what!

Indeed. I dunno why the 3v's never sounded quite as good. :shakes head:

Didn't the SN95's have a chambered mid muffler set-up? The 3 valves didn't.

Mid-muffler, yes. Chambered... depends on what you went with. All I know is the 2v and 4vs had the hollow howl that the 3vs didn't have as much of.

Thanks, I wasn't aware they were longtubes

Did you get the install done at least? I wouldn't mind a initial review on the sound

MTL370z 07-01-2010 09:55 PM

I installed mine this morning! I gotta say the sound is exactly what I wanted. Not too loud and no rasp at all, just a nice deep sound. Drone doesnt seem to be apparent at all, though I'm running the stock cats. It's a really smooth sounding exhaust. As far as gains go I don't have any dyno numbers to back it up, but I definitely noticed an improvment in performance/power. The tires rip loose even easier in first and second now and third gear chirps are a lot more pronounced. Overall the car seems to be a lot smoother too. Props to Magnaflow for giving us a great sounding exhaust at a reasonable price with excellent build quality! Now I just need to get my HFC's!

Sibze 07-01-2010 11:05 PM

Do you think you could post up a vid of the sound before you put the HFC's on??? Please sir!

NeedforZ 07-01-2010 11:45 PM

Any idea on weight? Yeah I know who cares but if we're already asking for vids, dyno, and db test then weight should be thrown in too. ;)

Jordo! 07-02-2010 12:36 AM

PPE header should make decent power -- looking forward to audio clip and dyno results...

...er... you'll be getting a baseline, right?

cbutler 07-02-2010 09:42 AM

Yeah when I get back in town later this week the exhaust will be put on and a two dynos will be done. I have an HD video recorder so i will tape the dyno and take pics of the install as well, probably get some sound clips in there too.
