Aftermarket CBE with stock tips?
Sorry if this is a re-post but I could not find anything regarding this.
Just curious to see if this has been done before. Here is my dilemma, I know I want an aftermarket CBE but the thought of getting pulled over for "aggressive looking" exhaust, just doesn't sit right with me. My previous car Acura CL type S got pulled over 3 times because of the "aggressive look" twice I was lucky and got off with a warning and the 3rd time resulted in a fix it ticket which resulted in removal of the Tanabe CBE. Is it possible to weld the stock tips to lets say a Stillen CBE? Will the stock tip restrict air flow by that much than the Stillen tips? Or should I just fabricate some pipes to custom fit my stock muffler and tips?

Just get a double stack exhaust like the Stillen. It looks very OEM. I would stay away from the big can types tho!

Berks cbe looks very oem like. There is no branding and the tips don't stick out. Welding on the oem tips won't affect performance.

Just saw youtube vids for both Stillen and Berk... The tips on both do look OEM. The sound on the Berk sounds a bit deeper?

I was leaning towards it because it's not too loud and high pitched sound... But the Berk sound just as "not" loud?

I'm not very familiar with Berk. From watching videos, Berk and Stillen look and sounds similar, so, either would be a good choice. I went with Stillen because I have the Stillen G3 intakes, and they are a good combination together between the exhaust and intakes.

The Berk is probably a little bit louder. The problem is that its existence is questionable at best right now.

What do u mean exactly? I was leaning more towards it since they are more wallet friendly 995.00 from their site.

what he means is, people have ordered MONTHS ago, and still have not received their exhaust. if you look around on the forum, u'll see a lot of threads about this. i myself have ordered over a month ago, and i knew i'd have to wait for this exhaust.

I was thinking of buying the Berk Exhaust as well however I would wait until they start producing some exhausts.
Stillen also had some fitment issues when it first came out however to my knowledge that has been fixed! |

You can get pulled over for an aggressive look??.......Way to go there California. I suspect it was for more than that!
BTW, the Stillen is quite mellow, especially with a stock intake system. I can't imagine getting busted for sound unless you're driving like a kid... |
