Default Best cat replacement..

Just got a barely used Agency Power Exhaust. Havnt put it on yet, but i am wondering what you guys would/have replaced stock cats with? I know on my Evo i had, i had a full turbo back, 3'' all the way back, no resonators, no cats. Thats one pipe though, so im gonna need help being pointed in the right direction with a dual exhaust. Sound and power

Well the best thing you could get is the FI LTH

but if you are planning to turbo your 370 they are pretty useless

As stated you can go with the Fast Intentions Long Tube Headers which will give you piping right back to the start of your exhaust. If you don't want to replace the headers at this time (looking toward turbo at some point) you can go with the Berk test pipes, ERZ resonated test pipes, or some of the high flow cats from those companies or others.

For maximum flow you want the test pipes but they could cause some undesirable sounds with your exhaust. In that case you could go with the high flow cats and just lose a few horsepower.

And arent the Berk HFCs 300 cell? I know the ERZ are 200 cell, so make sure you look into the cell count if you go HFCs.

Higher cell count = more restriction = less power?? --> ERZ gains > Berk gains?

Is this true? Not trying to start a war, just wondering what the difference in cell count means in practical terms.

the difference in gain between test pipes and HFC is maybe 5hp, so you can imagine the difference between cell count wouldn't be very much.

That's true, I hadn't thought of it like that.

Is there a quality difference between the two? Converters are made of rather pricey materials, right - could the lower cell count for the ERZ be a leading factor in the lower price?

Well if you want the extra 5 hp by going test pipes, then the people that have to use cats will want to go with the lower cell count for exactly the same reason, more hp even if its only a couple more. Your butt cant even feel the 5 hp but the lesser restriction of test pipes and lower cell count HFCs is also the better throttle response.

if your gonna go HFC definitely go with the Fast Intentions cat. Hands down, they make top quality stuff with extreme attention to detail. I would also highly recommend the Long Tube headers. If you have any questions shoot me a pm I have both the FI exhaust and Fi headers and have dealt with tony a bunch of times. Great guys at FI

by all means, I wasn't suggesting otherwise, just that it would be rather small gain if that. I went with test pipes because I planned on getting it tuned (so i wasnt worried about dumping fuel), and they never break

I just got FI resonated test pipes.... installing them tomorow...
Going on a cruise the very next day though! (im in australia)
Can anyone tell me if this will be a problem?? Is there a 'run-in' period for test pipes or something i should be doing to let the ECU adapt or not??

Please let me know asap!!!
