Free Stillen Exhaust...?
Got my Z a couple weeks ago (09 sport PW 6mt). Bought it used w/ 5k on the odometer. When I was first checking out the car I noticed the exhaust was especially bad *** looking, but just assumed it was stock. Granted it has the Stillen logo on the tips, but I just figured it was a collaboration between Nissan and Stillen, kinda like the Brembo brakes on my boss' caddy.
Please check out the photos in my album, I tried to embed them, but... fail http://www.the370z.com/members/agsta...s-exhaust.html After browsing this forum for a week or so I'm now fairly positive this is not the stock exhaust system. Please correct me if I'm wrong... Sweet right? How much does this system go for installed? I am a little concerned about the warranty though I gotta suspect Nissan isn't to happy about people moding these cars. I read this exhaust adds 18 hp? is that true? Should I have a mechanic check this system out to make sure its done properly, or to see if the car needs any additional adjustments to it's tuning?? Any help is greatly appreciated |
That sure is the Stillen CBE, No worries about the warranty. Nissan likes Stillen. Only thing that Nissan will not cover is if something goes wrong BECUASE of the CBE

thats a full Stillen system, one of the best out there, and can be had for $1200-1300, sounds like you may have gotten yourself a good deal, and yes, so far, the Stillen and FI systems seem to make the most power for our cars. Congrats. And if you think it sounds good now, throw on some HFCs.

So would cats be the next logical upgrade then? as opposed to say an intake?

Secondly, after the CBE is added, the majority of the gains are realized. Seems like adding high flow cats will only net you an additional 5hp or so. So, if it's between the two (intake or cats) I'd go intake. Plus, there is always emissions, visual inspections and CEL's to worry about with high flow cats (not a big deal, but I factor it in). But, either way, stay clear of changing the headers. Doesn't add much of anything. As for tuning, you're good for now. But, if you add the intake and high flow cats, you'll want to get a tune to correct the A/F ratio. You can go uprev or AAM. |
came in here thinking you were giving away a free exhaust!

Hmm....did you get this car from Audi/Mazda of Oakland? I think I test drove this car back in April right before I bought my Z. I remember the stillen exhaust on it and had like 4900 miles on the odo....

^haha likewise! also if u couldnt hear an aftermarket exhaust on your car that says alot about what should be expected of our stock systems

But she's still HOT! ;)

the HFC's just add a great sound to the overall note I think, you might see gains of up to 5 additional hp, but the Stillen CBE just sounds amazing when you open up the cats.
