It's not about being loud. I have never listened to ARK in person so I can't comment. But I can tell you HKS has a really quiet tone when you're on the highway. I just drove 4 hours on the highway and I'm VERY sensitive about highway drone. HKS almost has no noise on the highway. Thanks to the JASMA* certification and those tuned canisters. HOWEVER, the moment you start downshifting the car just comes back to life! It starts to get exotic and really loud (in a nice way). On highway downshifting from 6th to 4th, you'll wet your pants! I am very happy with the purchase. It gives me best of both world - the look and the sound!

JASMA stands for Japan Automotive Sports Muffler Association. They set rules and regulations on exhausts. All it means is that your exhaust is made in Japan and meets their 98 dba requirements for sound level. It's Japan's equivelant of CARB.

When I was looking for exhaust, muffler with a good ground clearance was on of the important factor (posted in post 1). This HKS has a slightly better ground clearance than similarly designed exhaust systems (in my honest opinion)

Similar exhaust for 370Z

I recently just ordered one. I'm also interested in the ground clearance of this HKS exhaust. The place I live has a speed hump at the driveway of the parking lot. My car is stock height, and the lowest point of the stock exhaust (those two pipes leading to the muffler) barely clears the hump. Just by looking at the photo, this HKS exhaust doesn't seem to be any lower than the stock. Can anybody be kind enough to provide me some measurement numbers? Thanks

Default New setup from HKS?

I just got mine and it looks like this:

Different from AK's, the one I got has the front 1/3 section separated into left and right. Although it seems the two will be joined together when installing, I don't know how that's gonna affect the flow though.

For all you hks folks, what the butt-dyno tells you just the CBE alone(no HFC/TP CAI combined, no tune)? Any low/mid end power loss? How's the throttle response and the high end? Honest opinion please. Thanks.
