Default Customizing FI catback

So I got my KW V3s installed and I cannot get up my driveway..

I kinda know that the rear cans hang a little low as the edge is the closest point to the ground. lowered 1" now I scrape and am going to adjust so my ride height is 1/2" higher..

I got a quote to install smaller cans with new flanges and 2 1/2" piping that are smaller and will have a flatter angle or have more clearance at the rear so I dont have to worry about scraping anywhere..

Anyone do this to their FI or can post up custom exhausts?

I feel your pain. I am lowered 1.5 inches and I have the FI CBE with carbon fiber cans, and in 1 spot I have scraped so much that it has worn past the carbon fiber and quite a bit into the metal under it. I have debated what I will do when it scrapes enough away to give me a leak. I still don't know what I will do.

Just don't lower. It's only for looks anyway... and if you're tracking your car, get a beater for a daily driver.

You're kidding me right? This car isn't for just show, but to be driven for the reason why I bought it for. If you are content as a daily driver, that's fine. I prefer to mod it to suit my tastes and that includes the suspension.

I'm lifting it 1/2" and installing smaller canisters.

I mentioned this in the FI Catback thread - that perhaps the best option would be to cut part of the can and make a flat spot that is parallel to the ground.

Whip out the big disk grinder, grind off the lowest portion maybe .5" up then weld over a flat stainless steel piece that will fit the hole.

Then again, I don't know what the inside structure of the cans are, but, as an idea, it's flawless!

Or, worst cast, sell the FI catback and get something else.

See... you're already lifting it after having scraped up your FI cf mufflers.

Nothing wrong with people adjusting the car's ride height to match what they envision.

Ride height does impact performance as well as looks...

Tru dat, but only cause I would like this to be a dd as well. My mechanic took my request for aggressive sport setting to seriously

Hawaii roads aren't great, so that is why I wanted it .5 to 1 inch low,....but it's really my driveway and not the city streets for me raising it back up,..

I just had my KWs installed too, as long as you only lower your car an inch you should be fine. I also have the F.I. 18" CF Exhaust

Nice car man... sucks about the driveway tho... Whenever I plan on taking the 370z out for a ride, I have to plan my moves ahead of time and take different routes if I know there are some shady roads and driveways.

One of the downsides of having a sports car I suppose.

I was thinking that,..but it really is only at the juncture where the sidewalk to my driveway has this change in angle. Basically, the rear cans are dragging on the sidewalk, which I cannot alter or change as this belongs to the City and County of Hawaii.

I could get sued or taken to court if anyone got hurt or injured (ie handicap electric chair)..
