Quick review -

The install was pretty easy. Except for me being messy and not being able to find some tools, it went by pretty quick. The only hitch that I had was that some of the hoses didn't fit correctly to the engine so I had to get a little creative. I'll show some pictures of it next time I'm off. I don't suppose they're essential to the operation of the car or performance wise but I'll see what you guys say after I get some pictures up.

As for performance - I did feel the engine respond a little better. I'm not sure if it really was the intake or some sort of placebo effect but i think it gos a little harder from 3.5k rpm+.

Sound - nothing drastic. There was some change but for me to really be able to tell a difference I would've had to listen to the stock vs intake back to back to really discern it.

Overall I'm happy with the way it looks and the effect it had (placebo or not). I plan on going Supercharger somewhere down the line so I didn't really wanna splurge on a CAI. This'll tide me over til the 29th when I get my FI Long Tube Headers and Exhaust installed. Not bad for my first mod ever.

VQ's exhaust side is really the big problem for these engines. Once you open up the exhaust side you'll get a little more out of the intake side. GL with the rest.

Got the dyno done today. Both baseline and after intake dynos were done in 5th. There were gains across the board, 5-9 HP. But it was also 18 degrees hotter today! This confirms with the butt dyno and these sound awesome!

Nice result dude, still rich to , so if you tune these bad boys you car will be even happier - sweet

so just over 5 hp and 7 tq max. decent gains and worth the dollars if you are happy with it and its looks. Not good enough for me to spend that money but each his own. Thanks for the dyno post.

Im adding this to my other thread about bolt on gains. Are you getting another dyno when you get the CBE? If so let us know so I can add that too.

Yeah I am adding ERZ HFC's and Meistershaft GTS next week and I'll do another dyno!

I'm pretty sure if it was 20 degrees cooler I would of got more gains. It was mid 80's today and in the 60's when I did my baseline.

I'm a little new to the 370 mod world, but can you tell me - Would I be able to install these myself? I'm no mechanic, but I'm not an idiot either. Safer to have someone else install? If so, what types of places would do it?

Also, do these void out the warranty at all?

Yes very easy to install. Well much easier than the long tube intakes like Stillen G3 or Injen.

You can do it yourself if you have some mechanical skills. You can also look for a reputable shop in your area, maybe search the forum or you can have the dealer install it. The only thing you can really screw up is the MAF sensor if you drop it or you don't fit it properly and cause vacuum leaks. Both avoidable if your careful.

Your entire warranty cannot be voided. The part you replace and anything damaged by that part will no longer be covered by the factory warranty. Your transmission for example, is still covered.

I ran into 2 problems when I tried to install mine last weekend.
The valve cover connections are for 5/8" tubing, and the kit includes 1/2" tubing. (there's a separate post for that: http://www.the370z.com/intake-exhaus...l-problem.html).
I'm still trying to figure out how I want to get around it.
There are 2 responses from 2 other members in the other post who indicated that they were able to force the connections and that they worked just fine.
I guess I'm just not that brave, and I want to see what other options I can come up with this week.

This is an update to the post I made above.
I had problems attaching the hoses from the valve covers to the k&n tubes.
The valve covers are 5/8", and the supplied hoses are 1/2".
The key is a little bit of extra knowledge, boiling water, and liquid soap.
Before attaching the 1/2" hose to the 5/8" vent covers, put a little bit of liquid soap on the outside of the vent cover, and soak one end of the hose in boiling water for about a minute. You still have to work fast, but it can be done.
