So looks like 18 with hfc is the way to go. But is ss really that different of a sound from cf cause I like the look of cf specially since I have a pw 370z but I'm curious how different the sound is.

I got FI HFC's and 12" Res CBE. I'll let you know in 2 weeks how it sounds. If you see my HFC's for sale on here then it's obvious it was way too loud/annoying. :P

I have Tony's LTH installed already and am going with 12" resonators and CF mufflers. I expect it to sound obnoxious, and that's what I'm aiming for.

I've had my FI carbon fiber cbe with 18" res and HFC on for about 3 months and it's still pretty loud but toned down quite a bit once broken in. I was told CF adds to the volume level hence why I went 18" on the resonators. Living in an apartment I don't want complaints. Stainless steel is lower level but a smoother growl. Hope that helps. If u go stainless and want volume get 12" and for even louder get test pipes. But my combo is plenty enough for me already have trouble hearing on phones lol..

im on the same boat. I ordered 18' ss and im scared it wont be loud enough.
I also read somewhere that CF sounds more exotic so i dunno if i should change.
This is so hard! LOL

Honestly, I think the 18" CBE and stock cats are plenty loud enough.

When I ordered I told Tony what kind of sound I wanted, but I was adamant that I didn't want it too loud. He told me I'd be totally happy with the 18" stainless and stock cats. I agreed and got on the list. Of course a couple weeks later I was second guessing so called him up and added HFCs to my order.

When I got the exhaust, I decided to do the CBE first to see how I liked it. Let's just say it was perfect and I sold the HFCs.

It is a VERY noticeable upgrade over stock. Plenty of noise to keep you happy but it's civil enough from the outside to keep you from being a menace. If you're really concerned about getting that right sound without going too far, just get the 18" CBE and I think you'll be very pleased. I know I am.

As far as SS vs. Carbon Fiber... I went with SS and trust me, it still sounds VERY exotic up top and nice and deep down low. I haven't heard a CF exhaust yet to hear the difference for myself, but from what people have been reporting it's a little louder than SS and does scream just a tad more.

I'll add -- I am NOT a fan of the hiss the HFCs give those of us that run exhausts with a crossover pipe, so if I wanted more volume I would simply swap my 18" resonated X pipe for a 12" resonated pipe.

i got to listen to the F.I setup yesterday. 18" resonators and hfc's are a great sound. not ridic loud, and was able to hold a convo in the car even with the windows down.

Iam still waiting on my Z but everyday I get closer and closer to ordering the FI CBE. Iam still new so please bare with me. But whats with the list you guys mention. Are these exhaust just made to order??? Its not gonna affect my decision cause I love the FI exhaust but whats the waiting list on these things. Question two, does anyone have a sound clip of the non-resonated CBE. Iam only 23 and I want the thing loud I just dont want it to sound like crap, dont really care how loud it is just dont want that Civic sound. I also plan on doing the FI LTH eventually, anyone with LTH and non-resonated CBE? you guys think it would sould like crap?
