The greddy is about 300$ more than Tanabe medalion. Also I believe tanabe just released this exhaust or something. Anyone owns either one? I was wondering the power difference between the two. The greddy is OEM style canister while the tanabe is dual/separate canister.

What do you guys think between the two?

Tanabe wasn't happy with their first Medalion Touring exhaust (too loud) and they are now testing their second one.

Yeah I spoke with Tanabe yesterday and they haven't even started manufacturing the second one yet, they still are taking bids from manufacturers

Aren't they the manufacture? Why would they bids?

Anyways I talked to tanabe and they said that the exhaust is out... and picture above is the latest picture they have.

I think the greddy piping is made of 409 stainless, which is not very corrosion resistant. You are in a warm climate so you may not have the salt issues we do up north, but I am willing to bet it will still show some surface rust on the piping over a few years.

I am speaking of the Greddy, not Tanabe. I would reccomend the Tanabe for that reason.

They design it, set the specs and materials but alot of companies don't actually "manufacture" their own products.

For example, Apple doesn't acutally manufacture the Ipod. They take bids from several Electronic manufacturers who handle the actual production/manufacturing

Yeah that car sounds sick. I got the Tanabe Y pipe the other day. The quality is stunning. I'm going to try just the Y-pipe and HFC's first to see how I like it and then decide later if I'll go with their full CBE

I haven't installed the Y-Pipe or HFC's yet....will be next weekend.
The Y-pipe is a direct bolt on replacement for the stock OEM Y-pipe and once Tanabe realeases the CBE, it should be using the same Y-pipe so it won't need to be replaced again

The feedback I've heard on the Tanabe Y-pipe is that if used with HFC's, it doesn't make the car louder then just having HFC's but actually a little quieter and deeper becuase it eliminates a good portion of the rasp

I'm not a big fan of burnt tips, so IMO the Tanabe looks better. It does seem a bit quiet though.
