I'm remiss in posting my kudos for the exhaust system since installing mine a few weeks ago. I'll need to get around to that.

But to chime in here, three people have commented on the sound. Two said it sounded like a Porsche they had heard and the third one asked if it was a Borla exhaust. Don't know if that was a good thing or not.

Came out from Kroger to see a guy taking picures of my car and as I walked across the pavement, he squatted and took a pic of the view from the rear. I guess he liked the cans. I sure as hell like the look. I'm NOT so much a fan of sleeper cars. If I have it, I'll flaunt it. But that's just me.

So, besides the HP gains, the perfect fit, I like the sound and the look.

FI... Made in the USA by a non-corporation ie. Stillen/Nismo/Magnaflow/Borla etc. That's part of why I like 'em!

This is actually a very good point. It would be nice to start producing at home like we used to.

"Never did make sense why it is so popular, I guess it also has a lot to do with the familiarity of FI to Z owners...I think lots of people got it just because FI makes it..."

So what your saying is that Stillen and Berk don't have the same following as FI if not more so! The reason most got it is because of every other reason that you fail to mention. People don't make a purchase because some company makes it,( are all of us drinking the kool aid, please be real ) otherwise I think there would have been a lot more Stillen and Berk systems sold! We made our purchase's based on more than the name, I for one have never heard of FI before my purchase. But why would I purchase a system that has issues that I won't get into, I've gone down that road before! You people need to face the facts that the FI system is superior to the others in more than one way. Nice job Tony, keep up the good work!

FI finished a close second for me. I feel like had I gone that route, I would have been completely satisfied, too. The value is definitely there.

In the end, I just liked the sound of the GReddy better and thus, justified the slightly higher price. In a Roadster that spends 90% of its life with the top down, sound was the biggest factor to me.

If I had to make a decision based on just what I would like to have in my Z without considering anything else, I would definitely get the FI CBE.

However, in my country the roads are very crappy and I am planning to lower the car with Eibach Springs at some point. There is not much ground clearance with the FI CBE and this is not something I can deal with. I would be all over this CBE if it wasn't just for this issue. I love how this CBE sounds, looks amazing, saves quite some weight (all the other ones are heavier), etc. So many good reasons to get it. I have no doubt from what I've seen that FI offers a top quality product and amazing customer service.

Next on my list of sound/performance taste is Stillen so I think that will be my choice for the CBE when I finally end up buying one. Currently waiting on the Berk HFC's.

Alex,

I am assuming that you are referring to (FI) as in force induction. What does double welding your end caps have to do with my system? You confused me on that statement, please elaborate...

Thank you, Tony

I want you to keep a few things in mind. At our systems lowest point it is exactly 3/8" lower than stock. We are talking about less than 1/2" of ground clearance being sacrificed. In addition, it's lowest point is in virtually the same location as the lowest point of the stock exhaust system which is directly behind the rear wheels. In every other location, our system is tucked up nice and high. In some places, even higher than the stock exhaust system...

Thanks, Tony

it's that view from the rear that gives the illusion that it is a lot lower than stock. Since it's the cans being low isntead of pipes, it makes it look a lot worse than it is.

My bad. Forced Induction was what I was referring to.

I also have nothing but good things to say about F.I. and Tony. I haven't been able to tot up the funds to purchase the system yet, but when i had some concern regarding a silencer for the system (to lay low from the popos, no need to add unwanted attention with a flashy, noisy car) Tony, chimed in almost immediately and offered me the possibility of a tailored exhaust system for me. To me the prompt reply (customer service), the ravings about gains and quality, the relative price and limitless possibilities with this company really sets it apart from the others.
