I don't get it. looks wise, it looks like huge fart cans. It def takes the stock/sleeper look way out of the picture. It kinda looks ricy to some degree.

What's is the FI exhaust the most popular on this board?
I don't get it. looks wise, it looks like huge fart cans. It def takes the stock/sleeper look way out of the picture. It kinda looks ricy to some degree. What's so special about it? you have competitors such as BERK, STILLEN that keep the stock look, while adding performance and better sound.
I guess I'm missing something... perhaps, preference? is there something negative about stillen or berk that I'm not aware of? please share with me. Thank you! Last edited by xbigb4ller69z; 04-20-2010 at 03:51 PM. |

Stillen: Had fitment issue from the beginning, the tips stick out
Berk: Finally is shipping Fast Intentions filled the void with a fair priced, equal performance, good sound exhaust while the others were just getting going over having issues. Also, if you go back tot he 350 crowd, the angled muffler design is very popular.

It sounds the best, its one of the lightest, it looks great (subjective), and its the best performer.

As I can see you are not a huge fan of the looks and that is ok. Looks and sound are subjective. However, performance and the fit of a system are not. I will not go into the fitment issues of the other two systems you mentioned. There are plenty documented issues on this forum and many others to explain it for you. If I do it, I will be opening a can of worms that I do not have time to clean up at the moment! If you like there stock look then that is for you. On the flip side our system weighs much less and is dyno proven to have the highest gains. We also have over 100 units installed on no fitment issues. When you deal with my company you speak to the owner and we will do our best to give you customer service that is second to none. Our systems are custom hand built by us. We are fabricators first and foremost and became business owners down the road. So we understand the entire process from cover to cover. The cans themselves are not that bug in all actuality and like I stated before, if this is not a look that you are going for then I understand. The list goes on and on, so please do not hesitate to ask if you have any questions... Thank you, Tony

FWIW, if you want a more subdued look get the CF cans... they almost dissapear under the car and are even lighter than the SS cans.

Stillen has great gains on the dyno, i like my system but it def needed some adjusting.. chances are if you go out in your driveway, throw the stillen on, it wont be the last time you mess with it...
Other than that it satisfies me.. The power that FI and Stillen makes seems pretty much spot on and there are a bunch of dynos from customers on here to prove that... The fastest 1/4 mile Z on this board has stillen exhaust so it cant be all that bad. There are also systems such as the greddy SE, that I have seen/heard in person that is also a good choice. The fit was PERFECT and looks great if you like burnt tips. Not sure of the power though but the sound is also very unique and deep , the quality on the greddy def seemed top notch , but i wasnt a fan of the price or burnt tips. But it seems like every single customer of FI is more than pleased with their product and the service that they recieve and that speaks volumes. I am however 100% satisfied with my stillen exhaust, intake, and pulley.

This thread is one hell of a conincidence....XBig...I was just wondering about this the other night....Then I figured it all comes down to preference combined with top nouch customer service....
As Dreamer mentioned...if you do go back to the 350 age I can vouch that the FI Style as far as looks was very popular...It is still a hot item for many 350 owners here on Guam. Although I prefer the sleeper look, I have realized one thing....Tony and FI have great customer service...He is very active on this forum, and has kept in touch with his clients and members of this board...I have to say that his Customer Service and contact with his clients is what has led to the sucess of his products and company....I wish I could say the same for the company which I ordered my exhaust from.... Not hating on any other companines out there, I'm just saying what I have seen first hand....Although I purchased my exhaust from a different company because of personal preference issues, I have to say Tony and FI have the most important thing down....TOP NOTCH CUSTOMER SERVICE AND CORRESPONDENCE.... From a Non FI Customer (At this point)....+1 to Tony and FI....Keep up the good work Tony...and congrats on all your success...You're top notch Customer Service only strengthens your confidence in your products!

The bottom line is, you treat others how you want to be treated. I am a consumer just like all of you and poor customer service will drive me away faster than anything else.

I love the look of this catback. However, it'll be a couple months, possibly longer until I get one myself because I just picked up my Z and don't have $1100 yet :-(
Bottom line: It looks and sounds like a solid product. They've got me convinced.

I got no problems with the FI exhaust, but it does sound the same as most aftermarket 370z exhausts...Its not better or worse than most. Never did make sense why it is so popular, I guess it also has a lot to do with the familiarity of FI to Z owners...I think lots of people got it just because FI makes it...
Quality looks good, sounds good, fits good. Its a good exhaust, but I still prefer the way mine sounds and looks. I don't like the way the tips look either....youre not crazy. Carbon fiber mufflers? Am I the only one who finds that tacky? Last edited by RCZ; 04-21-2010 at 12:36 AM. |
