please help (takeda,injen,stillen?)

just got my car couple days. plan to buy a intake for my new Z
so please help me out if which one is a good one.. i think takeda is the cheapest one.. next the injen and the most expensive one is the stillen.. so friends give some idea please!! thanks!!

Stay away from Takeda. Their SRI setup actually lowers performance because of the design. It ends up extracting air from the already hot engine bay. Injen's intakes are theoretically better. They are long and gradually curve, offering better air flow. The Stillen G3's are evenly matched, but I wasn't impressed by the complete package.

Keep in mind with either intake you won't notice any performance increase until close to 7k RPM. Just do a search on here to pull up some dyno sheets.

Check out R2c as well... :)

Agrees with Second post they have issues with MAF from what I've read.

Stillen makes A SOLID product for V6's in my opinion I'd go with that but the injen and stllen are so close!

none of them, just get drop-ins call it a day.

If you wanna grt a cold air def go injen.. They fit right the first time without modifications.

Thanks tian! Then will do the seach on the injen. And do you have to take off the from bumper to Install the injen air intake?I'm newbie here and newbie about mod the car. So friends advice please. Thanks!

Now you do realize that the stock intakes are CAIs. They just dont look real bling bling like. So with some drop ins, good for about 5 hp, you get about as much gains as the long tubes for a 1/10th of the price. just no bling. If you want bling then any long tubes will be ok but for $500.

except for the washer fluid relocation... BTW, G3's make the most gains if you're a power whore :)

Diocletian 04-19-2010 11:56 AM

It's technically not a relo, you just replace the gargantuan washer fluid bottle with the smaller one that's included with the kit.

Though I will admit those brackets were a pain in the arse.

Stillen or Injen

RCZ 04-19-2010 12:03 PM

Another one of these threads, SEARCH.

Stillen G3 and Injen Long tubes are the only two good options.

Huan'z 04-19-2010 12:06 PM

Ok guys... So injen or stillen? Will order later. So please vote or pick one for me. Thanks!!

RCZ 04-19-2010 12:25 PM

I have the Stillen G3 and I couldn't be happier. A lot of the folks who are making the biggest power on bolt-on mods are running Stillens. Take a look at this guy: http://www.the370z.com/tuning/17737-...e-results.html

Takeda - Cheapest, lowest results
Injen - Midline in cost, good results, needs a washer fluid tank swap
Stillen - Higher end cost, higher gains, needs front end fabrication
Top Secret - Ridiculously overpriced, SRI, higher gains than Stillen (Somehow )
