Who besides me kinda like the stock exhaust
I will be getting an aftermarket exhaust in the future I am sure. But I do still really love our stock exhaust. I think it sounds really good. I have had my car for a year and I still love windows down listening to it. Does anyone else out there besides me enjoy listening to our stock exhaust note

It sounds pretty good around 4k or so, but most all aftermarket CBEs really make our cars sound sweet. Obviously I think FI sounds the best, but I'll say that the AAM Competition exhaust is second best... its up there in the "amazing" category with FI.

the stock note is ok, but way, waaaay too refined for me, I like the sound of raw power, not luxury sport.

I am interested to see what diff my headers and Y will make with the HFC's, I was thinking of chopping up the stock muffler internally, re routing to a straight path and welding it back up, just for a Sunday project, I have a spare stock exhuast so if it does not work out no biggie, it does need to be more agressive, it sounded good with test pipes at WOT/redline and down shifting

I am currently running Berk HFCs and a Tanabe Y-Pipe and it is exactly the sound I was looking for. Don't like the sound of the catbacks but may try the Tanabe Medalion Touring when it becomes available.

IMO...the stock exhaust only sounds good at cold start....The aftermarket exhausts which are offered out there offer the type of sound that matches the looks of this car....Plus the extra HP/TQ gains are unbelievable and show you just how restrictive the stock exhaust is!!!

I think that Im gonna do the same set up. Dont you get more HP gains from the HFCs and the Y pipe? I thought I read somewhere that get more of a HP gain from the HFC's then a cat back.

The most restrictive part of the exhaust is the catalytic converter and the Y-Pipe so you will get some nice gains. The output of the Berk HFCs is 2 1/2" (OD) which is the same as the intake portion of the Tanabe Y-Pipe so it is a nice match.
