So, was thinking on just buying a kit from summit racing or simular and fabbing up a Y pipe, but noticed a few options out there that are resonably in expensive, my ? is do some of the 03-06 350Z Y pipe options fit on to the 370Z? I noticed that a few offer fitment for 03-06 350Z and 09 370Z upward.
Any one know for sure? I think I may just bite the bullet, if its too long I can cut it, too short I can add to it, for the saving it makes sense.... Appreciate.

I am also interested, just finished the install of my CNT Racing resonated test pipes on Friday and the size of the tubing of the Y pipe reminds me of my Honda days. Even my buddy who was helping me said he thought it looked small. Definately let me know what you find out, as I would greatly appreciate it!

Will do dude, cheapest Y I have found for the 370 is low 400's, granted a nice piece but the choice for the 350 is vast and you can pick them up from 100 bucks delivered for unknown brand to 125 delivered for a megan racing etc, man for what it is as long as it is 2.5 in and a 3in out I am happy.
I am ordering one today and will make it fit, for <100 bucks to my door its worth it, I am just going with a cheapo OBX version, that way I dont care about cutting it up if needed. If the welds are not that great a quality I will just redo them. Will report back, it will be a couple weeks as out of USA currently, hence my surfing for new projects to get busy with when I return ;-)

Hey, I just did some searching on ebay and they have some y pipes for the 370, and one is a OBX for $170 and $30 dollar shipping. I don't know if you are going through OBX or Ebay or where but maybe it will work without modification. Just a thought.
Also, I just looked at them side by side OBX vs OBX and they look quite different. Again, just a heads up. Last edited by STi 5; 04-18-2010 at 12:24 PM. |

hows the sound and fitment? Was it worth it or better to wait and save for a full exhaust system? I'm really interested in how it sounds, a vid would be great if you have the time. Thanks.

Also, what are the stock dimensions and how rough are the transitions and bends? How sh!tty is the OEM collector? Just trying to decide if a Y-pipe is really worth it, even a relatively inexpensive one.

Old thread but here is the info, I went with the OBX, fit fine , went well, I feel the stock Y is pretty restrictive.
Here is a quick video for sound, this was with TP's Kellys 370Z :: MVI_1357.flv video by kastley85891 - Photobucket Heres the piece, long sold on ;-) ![]() ![]()

^ I had a set and sold them on with out fitting, I think they can work with a specific tune.
TBH if I change headers it would be to feed a hot side ;-)

Hmm -- cool -- okay, I think I may just pick up one of these if the fitment is good, because they're pretty cheap.
I'll be getting a baseline dyno soon, then dyno wit htest pipes, then one with that + intakes, and will do a separate one for all of that plus Y-pipe in due course.
