AMUSE R1000 exhaust review

7 Attachment(s)
Hey guys,
I just installed R1000 exhaust from amuse.
This exhaust is single exit exhaust constructed using titanium.
It weighs roughly around 13lb.
When I was placing an order with AMUSE head office located in Tokyo, Japan, I was told that this exhaust is very loud and circuit use only.
However I kind of knew how loud this exhaust would be due to straight flow design, so proceeded ordering with them.
The delivery took exactly 14 days from the date of payment was made.
Today, I went to customs to clear my duties and taxes so that my shipment could be picked up from a warehouse located a block away from the customs.
I paid $1800 for the exhaust(including airfreight to Vancouver airport) + $150 for the duties and taxes(13% tax here in British Columbia) + $180 for the installation(charcoal filter had to be removed from its original location and then relocated to the center of the vehicle and this process required custom made bracket.. the guy at the shop literally created a state of art bracket).
Video clips will further explain what the exhaust is like..
The first clip is first start after installation.
The second clip is revving up to 4000rpm after properly warmed up.
The last clip is revving up to 5000rpm outdoor to get the actual loudness of the exhaust.
My camera is kind of crappy for taking videos..
This exhaust sounds very unique, somewhat exotic AND LOUD.
AND THE BUILD QUALITY IS FLAWLESS... COMING FROM A RX-8 OWNER, I HAD RE-AMEMIYA PRODUCTS ON MY OLD CAR, THEIR PRODUCTS ARE FLAWLESS, BUT THIS ONE IS EVEN BETTER!!
Please enjoy and tell me your opinions :tiphat:

Damn sure seems loud. Really unique sounding. It almost reminds me of a Duramax diesel at points. Sounds good!

Really nice! Good luck with it.

Do you have plans for the back bumper at all?

It's nice to see someone go against the grain.

LateralG'z 04-17-2010 12:57 PM

sweet nice choice, save a bunch of weight

Ztoon 04-17-2010 01:55 PM

That's sounds real nasty..... I like it! Puts me in mind of the Meistershaft exhaust.
Who did your install?

Cyberium 04-17-2010 02:05 PM

Sounds like Honda Ricer... total fail

Sorry dude... waste of money if you ask me. And also, what do you plan on doing with the rear bumper... or are you going to just leave the other hole empty?

phelan 04-17-2010 02:12 PM

I'm gonna be slightly biased here but I like my R1 Extra a tad more, the R1000 is too raspy for me. Cool deal that Amuse got it out in 2 weeks though! Good deal, enjoy the exhaust! Definitely gonna be one of the rarer setups around.

RCZ 04-17-2010 02:29 PM

WOW man, that sounds awesome!

LiquidZ 04-17-2010 06:05 PM

This is the definition of race inspired. I really like this. Thank you OP!

Congratulation, Sounds amazing. Definitely one of a kind.

I'm going single at some point, But it's really hard for me to do it after the amazing F.I. exhaust.

oh well people have different opinions and tastes.
I'm just going to leave the other hole empty, I only care about performance and drivability, NOT LOOK.
Thanks for your feedback

kevin.z 04-19-2010 02:31 AM

i dont know about true dual looking better single. for me after seeing Alex's single in real life, i kinda like it. It looks better than stock.

209Z 04-20-2010 02:44 AM

single sounds amazing but you have to get a new custom rear bumper or fix your stock ones. Because rear bumper is what killing your exhaust right now.

fairladyZ34 06-25-2010 01:03 AM

thread ressurection... any dyno gains?

Daishi 06-25-2010 09:12 AM

Im surprised so many people liked it.. I think if it was a civic and wasnt an amuse exhaust and it sounded exactly the same you guys wouldnt have the same opinion lol.

that outside sound clip does sound extremely raspy....the indoors one sound good, outdoors one is borderline.

I'm down with that!

zman99 06-25-2010 01:55 PM

It does sound like a ricer however I wouldn't call it a "waste of money". I just don't see where a comment like that comes into play, he wanted it, he bought it, and he likes it so it was worth it.

I do agree with DIASHI, his comment did make a lot of sense.

wishihadnav 06-25-2010 01:55 PM

i like it..any specs on the piping diameters??

wishihadnav 06-25-2010 02:04 PM

nvrmind...looks like a 80mm pipe.

k20z3 06-26-2010 01:38 AM

Nice can't wait for a WOT video :)

Jordo! 06-26-2010 01:50 AM

Hmm. Needs a resonator somewhere, otherwise, sounds good. Dynos? Any evidence of gains?

I haven't had chance to put my car on a dyno YET.
However, is it possible to install a resonator in an exhaust?

ScGRaceR 06-28-2010 07:49 PM

soo sick

Valentino 06-28-2010 08:12 PM

Everything is possible.

Vnismo370z 06-03-2015 02:33 PM

curious on how it would sound with ART pipes, i might take that rasp away... I am debating this exhaust or the Tomei
