So I have had my Fast Intentions exhaust and test pipes for about 1,000 miles now, and clean the car pretty much before every time I drive it. Problem is I have never gotten the tips back to the same shine they once had when I first unwrapped them from the 10 layers of bubble wrap Tony so generously applied.
Any tips? (no pun intended)

Have you tried metal/aluminum polisher from your local PepBoys or auto store?
I cleaned my door handles and exhaust tips last year. It doesn't last long but it's better than not having ANY protection at all. AK370Z's Monterey Blue 370Z Quote:

get some optiumum metal polish or one of the other metal polishes/sealants from one of the detailing websites like autogeek.net or detailedimage.com I polish my tips (not FI) with it and then use a metal sealant. keeps them shiny longer and really cleans it up to perfection.

Tony told me to use glass cleaner. I'm using the same cleaner that I use to clean my windows and it works MUCH better than metal polish... it's quicker, less messy and takes off just as much grime.

This question is geared toward people WITH fast intentions exhaust, preferably with test pipes as well.
I had my car for 6000k miles before I put the exhaust on, and I was always able to keep my tips perfectly clean. Now that I have the new exhaust and TP on I cant seem to keep them clean (mainly the inside of the tips, and its most likely because there are no cats taking out any of the by products of combustion) I mean I get them clean, but they are still a dull, yellowish/brownish/blueish color. Not shiny SS.

This is the stuff! Rtest Pipes with CBE and my tips go yellowish after quite a bit of driving. The above polish works exceptionally well.

![]() He's right, too. Glass cleaner works absolutely great for cleaning up exhaust, tips included. There is no need to go out and purchase something special.

What about neglected tips that look nasty? What works best for those?

There is a product called chrome it that is the best that I have ever seen. I have used it on my bike exhausts/ intake tubes etc and it will clean anything no matter how bad it is. it was developed for the trucking industry. go to Stainless Steel And Aluminum Metal Polish | CHROME-IT Super Polish
