Just installed my Berk HFC's, SES Light blinking. Indicating misfire??
Took me 2 days to install these things, Pain in the *** Satan's bolt got me good. Broke both top header to cat bolts, that's with soaking it with PB blaster for 5 hours.
Anyways, after getting the factory cats out, I swear this is probably some Japanese assembly worker's idea of a cruel joke. Probably torqued that single bolt to 200ft lbs with thread lock on it. Anyways, it's off, installed and I'm totally busted up. Disconnected the battery, stepped on the brakes a few times. Go to start her up, everything is perfect. I take her for a drive and within 5 minutes the SES light is blinking. It blinks for maybe a full 5 minutes and then goes off for maybe 5 minutes and comes back and blinks for 5 minutes. Like a cycle. Sometimes when I floor it it goes off. I heard that with the SES blinking, it could be a misfire? Any ideas guys? |

Thats not good. The install did not even take an hour on for me, and no light either.

No performance loss, according to my butt dyno it feels good. Seems to pick up much faster.
I'll go reset the battery again and see what happens. Are we supposed to reuse the cat to exhaust gasket since it's a multi-layer metal one? Berk doesn't include a new one so I'm guessing it's okay to reuse the factory one right? |

As long as everything is nice and tight the gasket wouldn't be the issue. I would check your sensors again and make sure everything is where they should be and check to make sure everything is nice and snug under your car.
The flashing SES light usually indicates a cylinder misfire but that seems very unlikely in this situation. It doesn't even make any sense.

The only other thing I did was remove the driver side airbox completely, I'll double check that side to see if everything is intact. Thanks for the suggestions Cyberium |

Did you remove anything that deals with the steering sensor? I have the same lights and the guy did remove some piece that is part of the steering sensor or whatever and now I have to get the sensor reset by Nissan and thier diag device. I tried the battery thing a few times and that didnt work. Looks like anytime you remove a sensor you should have the battery disconnected.

Anyways, the problem is fixed now. I just had to disconnect the battery and reset the ECU again and all lights went away. Going on 4 days and 400 miles now with no CEL/SES light. |
