Default Nismo Exhaust

Ok...so based on what I've read, here's what I understand:

There are two Nismo exhausts. One is the kind that comes standard with the Nismo Z, and the other is the one that you can get aftermarket. (S-type?).

I also understand that the one that comes standard on the Nismo Z offers more gains than the aftermarket version.

So my question is, why do these two different exhausts exist? What was Nissan trying to accomplish by offering an aftermarket design that's totally different from the "stock" Nismo exhaust? Is there some sort of marketplace available for the "stock" Nismo?

The "aftermarket" Weldina one came first, offered as an s-tune option. I doubt that the production one on the Nismo edition offers more power gains as the Weldina version looks cleaner. If anything the gains would be similar, however the production model lacks the stainless finish and the cleaner construction, mainly to potentially cut costs.

FWIW my HKS Dual Hi-power only made a couple more HP over my stock Nismo exhaust. I love the HKS system and would still get it but Nismo is a good system especially if you are looking for the quieter end of the spectrum.

I may be selling my Nismo exhaust (stock Nismo) soon. It's been off my car (had ~2200 miles on the exhaust) for 2 weeks or so. I just gotta clean it up, take some pictures, and get it ready to ship.

I'm probably going to list it in the "Parts for sale" section for $300 + shipping.

The reason for the s-tune exhaust is because there is a full s-tune package.
Front, side, rear pieces, suspension, exhaust, etc.
