Wanted find out more about this item. I'm not looking so much for HP gains, just want to change the exhaust note to something more suitable for the Z. Deep tone and no rasp...hate that tin-can rasp sound.

Resonated HFCs are the best of both worlds. On the G37 side this is an extremely popular product because its proven over and over and over again to keep away any unwanted rasp/drone but still giving you the added power gains you are looking for. If you are ready to place an order, or have any other questions please give me a call here at the shop!

Thank you, Blake

So what is the difference in having only the resonated CBE, versus having the resonated HFC also?? Meaning besides the minimal HP increase how does it change the sound. I'm assuming to some degree louder.

The resonator in the Cat will perform just like the resonator in the X Pipe. It is designed to be a noise canceling device. It does not hinder performance at all due to it's straight through perforated core design.

Now the resonator in the cat is obviously not as effective as the resonator in the X Pipe. Reason being it is much shorter and the O.D. Overall Diameter is smaller as well.

Now having resonators in the Cats and CBE will smoothen and quiet your exhaust note down.

Thanks, Tony

Tony, can your resonated HFC be installed on a FI setup (supercharger) without issues? i.e. burning up the core?

Thanks

You should not have any issues running HFCs paired with a Supercharger.

I would not recommend it with a TT kit though.

Personally I am not a fan of running aftermarket cats in stock location when the car is Forced Inducted. I have seen customers go 50,000 miles and others have the cats blow out in the first dyno session. A big factor in preserving the life of the HFC internal is your tune. If your AFR is all out of whack than you can consider your cats done! Meaning too lean or too rich. Being too rich you will constantly saturate the cat core in unburnt fuel and it will accelerate the deterioration of the cat core. Too lean and you will just cook the cat core.

All of that being said, if the tune is optimal which it needs to be or obvious reasons than you should see some life out of the cats. The better the cat core, the better chance it has to withstand the repeated daily abuse.

If you have any questions at all feel free to ask.

Thank you, Tony
