Default Question about Stillen CBE?

The Stillen Exhaust comes with the muffler, resonated y-pipe, and y-pipe (bolts to the cats). I want to know if it is possible to use the stock y-pipe with the rest of the Stillen kit. The reason I ask is because a forum member is selling just the muffler and resonated y-pipe. If it does fit will I lose much power?

I e-mailed Stillen, they weren't much help.

you wont get as much of a gain but i would think it wouldn't be that much maybe 2-3 hp and the sound will be maybe a tad quieter thats if it fits

I don't mind the sound being a little quieter, I plan on going HFC in the future so I'm sure they will more than make up for the sound, I just hope the stock y-pipe is very constrictive

Yes, held up the stock section, should bolt up just fine. No estimations on power, we did all of our designing and testing incorporating the revised y-pipe..

Hope that helps..

Just from casual observation, the stock "Y" pipe appears to be one of the areas of highest restriction

Agreed, it almost seems like the pipe goes from 2.25" down to 1.75-2" or visa versa

I recall a huge difference in diameter of the stock vs Stillen Y pipe, especially noticeable in the end once they've joined.
