Default Do my berks cbe tips look uneven?

I took the muffler off tonight and measured the hanger height and found the passenger side is 1/4 of an inch higher than the driver side. The uneven tips are beginning to bother me I hope berk can fix this problem for me. I PM berk on Tuesday and haven't heard back from them. They must be busy I will try calling them tomorrow before work.

Haha I know the washer trick that's what I told weapon to try. But I would probably need 5 washers to make it even. He said he had vibration noises when he added nuts to level out his exhaust tips.

I guess my question is 1/4 of an inch too much for the tips too be off? If it was off by a few mm I could add a washer or two.

I would guess yes, they should't be that far off once bolted together. So I'd call them or Pm them with the info and see what they say, who knows maybe you have a bent hanger?

azn370z, my tip alignment looks EXACTLY like yours. Height wise its pretty even. From what I see, it looks like the pipe bend coming out the muffler is too much causing the misalignment. I can't see anyway to adjust it out. But, if someone knows a way, please let us know.

Thanks,

Wes

imo these berk exhausts seem shotty at best.. wtf is going on with all these exhuasts not fitting...

thats how a 350 ebay exhaust should fit, not a quality product from a quality brand...

I see they are doing the right thing by the customers but this must be killing them as well as the customers as it seems like most of them are a gigantic PITA to get right.

You should change the threat title to:

"Do my tips look uneven to you?"

Might get a few more views! Haha!

It's not a Berk problem. It's clearly a UPS problem, they are beating the snot out them during shipping. Berk's problem is that they've never shipped such a heavy exhaust before, at least that's what they are claiming. They've improved their packaging, but if I were Berk I'd be all over UPS's azz.

IIRC, Stillen had similar isolated issues with their exhaust in the beginning. Issues, in my opinion, that were a little worse than insufficient packing and some bent hangers. Stillen fixed it ASAP, and subsequent buyers had nothing to worry about.

The majority of the BERK CBEs that went out in the last 2 weeks (mind you, these are the first few dozen systems EVER for this car) all went on without a problem. A mixup of 2 systems resulting in a customer with 2 driver side pieces, one really bad, warped system, and a few with bent hangers due to packaging issues are really the only thing we've seen.

Clearly a bent hanger due to shipping, which I know Berk is kicking themselves about, but I think they have learned their lesson. Good news is that it should be an easy fix. If you were to put a level on that piece of wood that is resting on top of both hangers, it should be level. Simply bend whichever end you want higher or lower until its level with the other end.

Ok I spoke to Bryan. He thinks spacers will balance the height which I'm sure will work. He thinks another gasket will fix the left to right alignment. I have about 1/8 of an inch gap between bumper and exhaust tip. I'm not sure if adding a gasket will fix the gap because it's really tight. I will give this a try and update everyone.
