Invidia Gemini SS Tips Installed

4 Attachment(s)
After seeing bluestyle55's review http://www.the370z.com/intake-exhaus...omparison.html of the Invidia Gemini and ERZ HFC I decided this was the exhaust for me. I am pleased to report the quality of this exhaust is just as great as the pictures portray. I got a stellar deal from ECS Motor Sports for the Invidia Gemini with the new Stainless Steal tips. I still can not believe I got a full cat back exhaust of this build quality for a price under $900.00! And the exhaust sounds just as good as it looks. I previously had the ERZ HFC installed with the stock exhaust which sounded pretty good just a bit raspy for my liking. After adding the Invidia Gemini my Z now has a deep growl to it. For those on the fence about this exhaust being too loud I can tell you it is definitely not too loud. When you’re just cruising under very light throttle it is pretty tame but when you get into the throttle from 2500 - 4500 rpm it really screams best of both worlds. I included some pics of the exhaust on my car and plan on taking it to the Drag strip to see how she does. With the new exhaust installed I should be able to break into the 12's. I will post another tread after I have a chance to run it at San Antonio Raceway.

The invidia is a bit more restrictive than fast intentions, stillen and berk so that it can be a bit tamer but what do you all think about the difference in overall gains when paired with hfcs. It would seem there's a point of diminished return when adding hfcs after a catback or catback after hfcs. You think invidia with hfcs would show the same gains as other exhausts with hfcs?

I can definitely feel the power increase up top in the higher RPMS. When I saw how restrictive the stock exhaust was when they had it on the lift I knew I was going to feel something. The Invidia looks very similar to the Berks being they both sport the X pipe instead of the Y, and stack the mufflers. I think the average gain from this exhaust is 12whp so a little less then Stillen, Berk, and FI on the dyno. After I get to the track I will know how much extra power I am getting from the CBE. When I ran the 13.16 @ 108.85 I only had the ERZ HFC and Takeda SRI. The short ram intakes don’t do a lot in terms of extra power so most the gains coming from the HFC. I was still able to trap 109.49 which is only about 1mph off Z eliminator trap speed. He had Stillen CBE, G3, Berk HFC, and 4.09 and ran a 12.80 @ 110.33 so I am on par to match his trap speed just need to work on my launch to get some better times.

In terms of how the car performs on the track yes the gains seem very similar between other exhaust and hfc combos.

Looks good. I know the Invidia CBE sounds really nice. Can't wait to see what you can do next time you get out to the track. 12s or bust. :)

Awesome man! Glad to hear that you are happy with your purchase. Have someone drive your car away from you when your standing outside...really sounds sick.

Not sure if you are going to trade up for the G3 intake or not but you can see what gains I got from the Cobb tune at Altered Atmosphere. If you buy the G3 intake you will be the same setup as me and I am sure AA would give you the map from when then tuned my car. Just an idea (30+hp and 30+tq mid-range) :stirthepot:

Oh yea...and PLEASE get in the 12 range. That way I can brag my car is a 12 second car :happydance:

how much louder is it than the stock? like when your stopped at a light can you hear it?

AJ@ECSMotorsports 03-14-2010 10:34 PM

Glad you like the exhaust, and thanks for posting pics and a very nice review.

We are now stocking this exhaust, along with the Ti tipped Gemini catbacks.

I agree, this is a very good exhaust for such a low price.

Watch my db video comparison (http://www.the370z.com/intake-exhaus...omparison.html)

Paired with HFC's it is considerably louder than stock but is definitely daily drivable. Once the car is warmed up and you’re at a stand still...the exhaust tone is a slight, yet definitely enjoyable rumble. I mean there is no 1k done if that’s what your asking.

WOW I just found your tread concerning the COBB AP tune you received at AA http://www.the370z.com/tuning/15435-...ome-gains.html.
Are you kidding me, really holysh... I thought this car was a beast with just the bolt ons and no tune. What a nice surprise to find there is a lot more juice to squeeze out of this car in N/A form. I can't wait to see how I do at the track with my current setup, but if I swap my intake with the G3 and get the COBB AP with your map there is no reason I can't be in the mid to high 12s all day! I LOVE THIS CAR!

How is the rasp now with CBE installed? I've got the ERZ HFC's with stock CBE also and agree that it's a bit raspy at certain RPM. I'm planning on getting a CBE and wanted to know how it affected the rasp.

It's almost completely gone. I mean if you go WOT from 2500 - 3000 you will hear a little rasp but its more of a welcome throaty exotic sound then an annoying high pitch BB's in a can sound. I am so glad I decided on this exhaust. I really could have afforded a much more expensive one but why the quality, sound, and fitment of the Invidia are top notch. And I can feel the power difference even though I got this installed a month after having the ERZ HFC installed. Invidia Gemini FTW!
