Those look sharp man but did you do any comparos before buying them?

no heat shields=fail with heat soak and the hood closed you probably just lost power, still doing that happy dance?

Seems sort of hostile in here, but you really should have done a bit more research before buying this.
|
The guys excited about his first mod, so lets let the guy be, but I agree, you probably should have researched a bit more as far as intakes are concerned, the takedas showed high inlet temps and a loss of power throughout the power band, but they're aesthetically pleasing thats for sure!

No doubt that is looks good when you pop the hood... but there is a reason the stock filters were in those little boxes... to keep the heat out. Your pretty much just sucking it HOT air with those which is worse than keeping the stock filter set up(which by the way isn't bad at all) I would either invest in some heatshields if possible or try and find some long tube pipes to extend if possible to get a more G3 long tube set up.
I agree some guys here are being a bit harsh but they are really just trying to help. |
They look nice, congrats!
Don't worry I made the same mistake on my 03 350Z. I went with JWT Pop chargers, then 2 months later installed Injen Long tube intake, once I found out JWT didn't make any power. Hope you like them, that is all that matters. Happy modding |
He's in Canada. Plenty of cold air up there regardless of the tube length :)
|
take em out...sell them on ebay (accept the slight loss in money)...but G3's or Injen...be happy that you picked up 15hp (as apposed to heat soak and no gains)
Sorry for the tough comments dude...but its true. If you do keep them...you should probably install heat shields and rig up a tube cold air mod. (although with the cost of heat shields and time/effort of the tube mod...you really should just swap them with a cold air setup) |
