A not so successful Berk Exhaust install...

Man, the virtual lynch-mob is already forming and Berk has not even had a chance to respond here publicly, and more so (and a much better way) privately to the those who are encountering issues. Sometimes forums are a good thing—sometimes not.

Well it's not like it is only one issue. Did you see this album yet?

Since Berk is a vendor here, I would like to hear their side—good or bad. There are so few 370Z aftermarket vendors that I really want to give Berk a chance at explaining what has happened.

Yup it sucks for them that this is happening when they are closed for the weekend.

That's another reason why I posted this up. (Besides warning people to check their mid pipes before installing) I am giving Berk the benefit of the doubt so far, **** happens and mistakes get made, it's how you solve them that counts.

I am convinced that once I get the exhaust installed I will love it and I'll post a raving review.

I've never seen the complete exhaust, but I think you're ok Steve. It would take some significant damage to bend that X-pipe, and you'd certainly see a ding or scratches. The way the right-side resonator bends back outwards makes me think it looks 'by design'.

i'll tell u know that it is bent, doesn't even line up to the stock cats without a LOT of force and thats just to get the bolts onto the flange holes

This does look bend to me. What did the box look like when you received it g96818?

What did UPS do, did they even bother to land the plane when they delivered the box to Hawaii, or did they just open the door at 10000ft and shove the box out?

At least it had a single wrapping of bubble wrap and a lot of open air space within the box to cushion the impact...

this was the only real noticeable damage to the box

the packing looked ok at first

but that passenger side flange on the muffler is right next to the hole and is probably what caused it to puncture the box and that one is really bent, notice the broken single piece of cardboard that is supposed to support it, the mid-pipe above it, and the x-pipe

I just emailed them yesterday about purchasing this exhaust, not sure anymore.Prolly go with FI now

Can't go wrong there. Hope no one jumps on me for this, but I think FI is one of the only, if not the only, exhaust builders that doesn't outsource production. They do everything in house and to order, so there are NEVER any fitment/quality issues.
