Air flows through it and then out of it...that's it.

And don't talk to me about weight, you don't have an F1 car.

Forgot to mention no one ever sees it and it sits 3 inches away from the asphalt.

No offense meant. I like shiny things too, but damn guys.
Not trying to justify the price, which is a bit high, but that's probably only true if you're just looking at the flow itself. If you're talking about sound waves, they are affected by things as minute as a 1 degree bend here instead of a 2 degree bend there. People seem to forget that research and development isn't free (price isn't just the sum of the materials involved), and to get something that sounds that good, I'm sure they had to do a hell of a lot of both.

Top secret and most other jdm companies are all a waste of money. Inferior design less power and more than double the price makes no sence. Just cuz of the fact the factory y pipe is retained the exhaust will never be able to perform like others. For example fi.

Point taken, but on that same token...You would need to sit with an average exhaust shop charging the normal rate of $75 an hour for 66 hours to get to the same price of that exhaust. That's you by yourself to a single exhaust so there would be no spreading the development cost across multiple exhausts you're selling.

When a company makes an exhaust, they don't have a specific pitch or sound goal, they just want to make it sound "great" so when they think they have a winner they stop. As far as power goes, they don't have a target for that either. Tiny tweaks in angles, bends and smoothness will not net more than an hp or two from the original main design.

I definitely appreciate a cool exhaust, but I could never in a million years justify the price of one. That's all I'm getting at. Specially since I don't think Top Secret makes better performing exhausts than your Stillen or Fast Intentions.

Say that they made 4-5hp more from the top secret exhaust....well that exhaust is $4000 more than a Stillen one...youre paying $1,000 per horsepower for what? their research and development?

Again, just my opinion and I don't mean to offend anyone or start a flame fest so don't by any means take it personally.

Hey everyone,

Thanks for all the comments, we don't mind the back and forth at all. As for the Y Pipe that part is coming, it just didnt make it to the states in time to have it installed yet, so that will be changing soon.

As for the price, sure it is significantly more expensive than others, and we respect the fact that not everyone would spend near this money for exhaust. For us, it was about being different in some areas. We definately could have gone with a Stillen or Fast Intentions Exhaust, and all were considered, but when we sat down and thought about it, if we wanted to build something different, we needed to go in a different direction. Also, it is nice to have the only one out, at least for a while.......

Is it necessarly logical to spend 2 or 3 times the amount of a regular stainless exhaust, probably not, but its also not logical to have a front bumper 3 to 4 inches off the ground (especially in Houston). In the end, its all for fun! We welcome any critique or criticism.

One more note, from Project Mothra

In Japan, an otaku is a fanatic. Actually, it’s a term used to identify true obsession. Pure, unadulterated obsession.

Americans are otakus about their cars. Mostly, we’re otakus about the things that make them go faster. How else could someone justify spending over $1000 (or even $300-$500) on an air intake for their car, which is nothing more than a couple of metal tubes and filters?
You can’t. Stop trying.

That is, until you understand what’s behind the tubes and filters and everything else Smoky Nagata engineers and designs.

We met the man today, and while we’re not the type to be star-struck, it was really, really cool...
