I just bought a Roadster from them a couple of months ago and began inquiring about some mods after noticing the GT-R they have and hearing about the Top Secret things they have on it.

I became very interested in the 370Z project and encouraged them to come on this site and talk about it.

I'm in advertising, so naturally I offered to help them get the word out on this car. I have no personal connection with it, though. Now, if they'd like me to test out any of these components on my Z, I'd be happy to.

PS -- they were trying to adjust some settings on the GT-R yesterday during the dyno pulls. I hear it's good for at least 100 more horsepower than it showed.

Ok everyone, I thought I'd offer some clarification on what is going on.

I do realize that a $2,500 exhaust system may not necessarly be "Value Oriented", but thats the point of a project, everyone puts different things on the car for different reasons. The Powerhouse body kit, (I personally LOVE) is not for everyone either, its polarizing to some, and awesome to others.

The same goes for the Top Secret PROcess tune. Having had a Cobb on the GT-R, we saw a chance to do something fun and different (personally I'm not a huge fan of the Cobb, its a good product, just not my favorite). And the GT-R is currently at 519 WHP, but is not close to done!!!!

As for the Dyno, the first run is correct. It was re-tested yesterday with headers, HFC, lightweight flywheel, pulleys, AP racing brakes and short shifter, and those results will be up shortly, but the first one was bone stock, I assure you, no tune, no HFC's, nothing but a 2010 Z. It was done on a mustang dyno at secret services in Houston if that helps!

Hope this helps clear a few things up. Nice to meet everyone!

so 269 bone stock ? That seems a bit high on their dyno. I dyno'd at 276 on my second pull with G3 intakes and BERK CBE. I do have bigger wheels/tires but that shouldn't matter. I was told they had a 370z on there that had headers and light weight flywheel on there from Baker Jackson and it put 280 with UpRev tune.

I was also told that GT-R put down 480ish I believe.
Use a Dyno Dynamics next time, I made 278.5 yesterday, bone-stock.

Swat Performance - Top Secret Performance Parts and Accessories

Ok so it's titanium and it cost $6,500 dollars, my thinking here is this: you pay as much as a supercharger costs, you and you get a Fookin Y-PIPE back exhaust that retains the most restrictive part of exhaust system maybe 10hp maybe. This has officially surpassed the ridiculously over priced nature of even the Porsche moniker. This just adds proof to my arguement about topsecret making overpriced racerboy rice parts.

note the factory y-pipe heatsheilds, my suggestion to baker jackson: ditch that crap and go fast intentions or berk or stillen, or hell Invidia Gemini

I thought we already covered the fact that the Baker-Jackson car has the stainless Top Secret exhaust. Wow, you really hate TS, huh?

Uh, well, to be honest, six thousand dollars is insane for an exhaust, no matter who makes it -- especially for a car like the 370.

Even if you are using the steel version -- it probably -still- is very expensive compared to what is in the market. That, and like most other JDM exhausts it isn't even a full CBE.

Meh.

I'm not using it at all. I'm merely interested in this build that happens to be using a lot of Top Secret parts I haven't ever seen before. I haven't paid a dime for this stuff, but I have heard it on the car. It is amazing and purportedly makes great power.

For whatever it's worth, I believe the price is in line with the Amuse titanium exhaust phelan put on. I'm not a customer for that one either, but think it's pretty nice, too.

I don't know -- is there something wrong with admiring things that are out of my price range?

The you was not specifically you, but anyone in general who would consider it.

No, admire whatever you like. Just the same, is there anything wrong with rolling your eyes at incredible price mark-ups simply because of name and place of origin?

I mean, I have no problem with saying "oh hey that is nice" or whatever, but to me it is like the Oakley Elite line of sunglasses/watches. They are honestly the same exact thing just in a different color -- and $5,000+. The only reason they are expensive is because they are expensive. That sort of masturbatory thing sort of irks me and boggles my mind, but hey, whatever floats your boat.

Yeah, I get that. Changing a color and pricing on brand alone get an eye roll from me too. Top Secret, however, proves to be better every time it's put to the test. So, maybe it is worth it...just not worth it to me.

A Tag Heur and a Timex both do the exact same thing, yet cost thousands of dollars difference. Call me an idiot, but I really like the Tag.

Lol...$3-$4-$5,000 pipes? Are you people insane? I will keep my opinion to myself, but WTF ARE YOU DOING????

Maybe pictures will help you understand.

This

Does exactly the same as this

Air flows through it and then out of it...that's it.

And don't talk to me about weight, you don't have an F1 car.

Forgot to mention no one ever sees it and it sits 3 inches away from the asphalt.

No offense meant. I like shiny things too, but damn guys.

i'm not sure myself whether I hate or I'm just in a state of dumbfounded disbelief at the position Topsecret is in with the products and pricing they produce. Also nutinmuch i was actually going to make a post about those designer blue jeans being the same as this but i passed out last night in the middle of it, gotta stop staying up so late.

Also it's called superfluous spending.
