Oh, for sure. I wasn't denouncing the integrity of the welds, just the "fit and finish" of the appearance. I have full confidence, after my short inspection of the exhaust, that this thing certainly isn't going to break or come apart at the seams on me.

Hell, if anything is "ugly", save for the tips, does it really matter anyway? But compare the look to some of the other CBEs out there.... I believe we'd see a difference.

agree, besides, who is gonna see 'em. But I have seen outstanding welds on competitor's products.

I'll receive mine at the end of the week, so I don't yet know how mine will be packaged, but it looks like there is quite a difference between some of the boxes sent out by Berk. Look at the weapons box: Berk Cat-Back Exhaust GB #2!!! This is how I want my exhaust to arrive. I sure as hell hope my box does not looke anything like what Matt or g96818 posted... Care to elaborate Berk??

It's in part the shipping companies when dealing with heavy packages (they change trucks several times going across country) but unfortunately a large part of the blame lays in the packaging. Packing peanuts should not be used for heavy items, it should be packaged with corrugated paper to prevent movement of the part. Stillen does it right, others should take notice and learn.

yeah the welds are fine definatly tig (they were welded by hand), i will tell better once mine arrives next monday as for the penetration, porosity, and stuff. When it comes to tig there are different ways to do it, they could have overlapped the melt pools more and given it that "row of coins" look but that is done in a continuous weld, i'm betting to keep the tube from stressing and warping it was kind of a spot of weld here spot of weld there thing to keep the heat even. like i said we'll see when it gets here but in my opinion so long as they used the right rod and the right gas and the welds don't rot out or leak it'll do. the only people under my car other than me will be peds i accidentally mow over and i don't think he's gonna have to good of a look at the welds if he fit under a 3" ground clearance car

Edit: after a fourth and fifth look at the photo i'm willing to say that the welds do look strong enough you don't want the weld to bulge out to much more past flat between the outer boundary of the pool so it looks like they used enough filler

Thanks for the feedback. It's good to know I have little to worry about besides cosmetics.

Exactly. How can one box have the paper, one box have peanuts, and one box have absolutely nothing(mine)? That's got nothing to do with UPS, but packing the box correctly could have minimized the amount of damage the box actually receives during shipping.

I received my Berk HFC's packed extremely well in the box they came in.

My F.I. box came in great shape and this BERK exhaust came packaged pretty well too IMO but it did have a hole in the side where one of the hangers from the muffler lost it's protective tube that was on it and poked through the side. Goes on here in a few hours and I'll have pics and I'll try to get vids but I can not guarantee the vids will be of high quality.

Luckily, even though the box was almost entirely destroyed during shipping, the exhaust appears to be free of any dents or dings....surprisingly.
My exhaust was similar to this. I will post pics later tonight.

That's *exactly* what my exhaust looked like in the box. It's absolutely pitiful looking, isn't it? Hopefully yours had the same miraculous survival skills as mine did!

^^^WOW!!! No paper at all in between? That's kinda weird...one of the 1st boxes I saw that arrived had a lot of paper in between but vpn2001's box along with Matt's seems as though they just wrapped it up in bubble paper, threw it in the box, and taped it up...I really hope that Berk addresses this issue and could respond to the poor packaging
