Loud exhaust.

SO I bought a new 370z about two weeks ago. I wanted to get a loud exhaust. I have looked all over but seems berks has the loudest so far. Any other options for an loud but not to loud exhaust with cats?

Long tubes and straight pipes.

For keeping cats get some Stillen Headers, HFC's (prob Berk), and then straight pipes. :D

Define "loud but not too loud", I don't quite understand what you're looking for.

Not to mention you're in California, if you want loud, you better be ready for cops to watch over you like a hawk.

Yep, the straighter the pipe (or lack of resonators) the louder it is. Now, this does not mean it will be a "nice" sound but it will be loud.

My FI with 12 inch resonators has a good volume to it and Im adding HFCs so it will get even louder. I think Red370 has Berk HFCs and Stillen CBE and I think mine is louder than his without the HFCs on mine yet and will be with them on for sure. So if loud is what you want I think FI can get loud but in a good way.

Ya know, i'll be honest, I just think the VQ37 in general is just a really quiet engine, seriously. At idle, with various exhausts i've heard, it purrs like a kitten, HFC's or not. You can barely even tell the car is running. I was excited when i first put my Stillen exhaust on because it was loud and raucous, then after a trip to albuquerque, it burned in and quieted down considerably, pissed me off really. I think the only way you'll get a loud sound is with the long tube headers and no mufflers.

Yeah, yours is definitely louder than mine even w/ HFC's, while I like the semi stock look of the Stillen, for the sound, I almost wish I would have gone with FI.

I want a exhaust that noticeable. Not to loud but loud to be noticeable.

F.I. 12" SS + HFCs will be very, very noticeable.

Vegitto-kun 03-08-2010 01:08 PM

drill some holes in your current exhaust

it will be awesome

vipor 03-08-2010 01:08 PM

I get the Coke!

Jamaica 03-08-2010 01:11 PM

lol thanks guys. Do you think it will sound better then berks?

phelan 03-08-2010 01:14 PM

Personal preference, buddy. There is no be-all, end-all of exhausts; from the looks of it, you will be happy with either system (and maybe a few others I'm forgetting at the moment...check my exhaust sticky thread if you want).

If you like the sound of the Berks, by all means go for it. It's your car, don't make decisions solely based on what a bunch of people on the internet told you to do.
