ARK Exhaust Is Here

Fed Ex showed up this morning with the ARK exhaust. Was supposed to be here yesterday but they must not do residential deliveries in the snow. I was kinda worried because the box was pretty busted up. The good news is that the individual pieces inside the box were well packed and no damage occurred.

Off to my friends shop at 12 to get it put on. Stay tuned for pics and videos.

Congrats!
I know you've been waiting patiently for these and I'm sure they will be worth it!
Can you keep the rpm steady @ 2,000rpm for me?
Post many videos regardless, please!

TonyBPD 02-27-2010 06:24 PM

After inspecting all the pieces, I loaded it into the Z. Exhaust install was pretty simple. Had the stock one off in a few minutes and the ARK on in about 15 once it was all lined up. It does need some adjustments but I will get that done next week sometime.

This thing sounds awesome. It is much better than what I hoped for. There IS some drone but with the lack of sound deadening in these cars its expected. I took a few videos (in car) and will post them tomorrow. Didnt really take the car on too longof a drive because the roads were wet and I'm depressed from all this snow. LOL

Here are a few pics.

looks nice man - post those videos already

TonyBPD 02-27-2010 08:04 PM

The video was taken on a point and shoot camera. Take it for what its worth. Holding it in my left hand, shifting and steering with the right. Windows are UP.

Looks nice. Time for some outside the car takeoff and flyby videos.

TonyBPD 02-27-2010 08:16 PM

Most definitely. I will get the wife to hold the camera.

fatcat777 02-27-2010 08:16 PM

looks and sounds great.

CrownR426 02-27-2010 09:06 PM

You didn't get the burnt tips?!

TonyBPD 02-27-2010 09:13 PM

The tips are in fact burnt.

Red370 02-27-2010 09:38 PM

sounds a bit quiet, you need some high flow cats ASAP!

CrownR426 02-27-2010 10:09 PM

Those look so badass Tony!
You should go with the Berk HFC!

:iagree: Berk HFC's FTW!

TonyBPD 02-28-2010 10:08 AM

Cold start up sound clip. Taken with point and shoot Canon camera. Camera was on the ground about 3ft. away from the rear of the car.

Sounds good Tony!

fullmonty 02-28-2010 11:01 AM

Sounds great! I'm really thinking about this exhaust

Zeto 03-01-2010 02:31 PM

Yea it sounds kind of quiet but mine is loud. Most likely because of the test pipes. I have the Berks but I'm getting rid of them for the FI TP.

TonyBPD 03-01-2010 02:50 PM

I'm gonna stick with the stock cats for the time being. Maybe I will switch to HFC's later.

fullmonty 03-01-2010 03:10 PM

Do you have any ground clearence issues with it at all?

TonyBPD 03-01-2010 03:32 PM

I'm at stock height and even though the exhaust sits lower I haven't had any issues so far. Keeping fingers crossed.

fullmonty 03-01-2010 04:28 PM

Who did the instal, and what was your cost for the exhaust (If you don't mind me asking) And how much was the install? You can PM me if you want. I think the exhaust sounds like pure 3.7l sex

TonyBPD 03-01-2010 05:01 PM

Took the car for a good 8-10 mile ride. Back roads with lots of dips etc. No clearance issues at all. One thing I really like is that around 80ish in 6th gear she is pretty quiet.

TonyBPD 03-03-2010 05:48 PM

If all goes according to plan, I'm gonna throw the Z on the dyno on or about 03/12. Can definitely feel a gain with the exhaust install.

TeamARK 03-04-2010 12:18 AM

i love it ^^

TeamARK 03-04-2010 05:11 PM

The lowest point of the exhaust is exactly where the rear wheels are located. Therefore it will clear almost anything as long as the tires don't hit the fenders. To put it simply, the tires would rub with the fender before our exhaust scrapes the ground.

Your right. I have taken the car over some pretty sketchy areas and had no rubbing.

DriveLineEric 03-04-2010 09:18 PM

Looks great! Congrats on the purchase.

TonyBPD 03-04-2010 09:32 PM

Set up my dyno time on 3/20. Looking forward to it.

You know, I don't know if I should wait for your dyno results or just buy it now. Thanks for making this really hard for me to decide.

TonyBPD 03-15-2010 11:32 AM

Just buy it. You will not be disappointed.

chris410 03-15-2010 11:48 AM

I ordered mine on Friday! I'm keeping the stock cats as well and thanks for the pics, exhaust looks great in the pictures.

TeamARK 03-15-2010 12:17 PM

You should have received a tracking # by now. Let me know if you need anything else.

TonyBPD 03-15-2010 02:29 PM

No fitment issues with ARK. IIRC each and every system was test fitted to assure proper fitment. Can you say customer service!

Your exhaust should arrive any day now :)

fullmonty 03-17-2010 12:44 AM

Thank you for getting me the tracking number and for shipping it out so quickly. It's actually arriving a day early (should be delivered today) If all goes well I will install it this evening. Looking forward to this!

They had 3 in stock when I ordered so my guess is that they are down to 2 if any. I will post up tonight on how the install goes along with initial feedback.
