Default Stillen CBE and Berk HFC ordered

I've had my Z for almost 2 weeks and decided the exhaust note needs to be changed. I just ordered the stillen CBE and Berk HFC's. I'll post pictures and video once installed and tuned.

I'm debating getting G3's how ever, I should be getting the turbo kit from GTM in 6 to 12 months. I'm just not sold on cutting my car for a few hp. I'm curious if any are regretting installing thier G3's knowing they are going forced induction. Thanks all! Loving my Z so far. One more question any one getting gear whine on the 6MT? It's most noticable in first gear. I'm going to have her looked at today so hopefully I'll have an answer soon.

-edited for spelling stupid iPhone.

If you are 100% sure you are going FI, save the $500 and put it towards your kit. If not... just get them.

^^^What he said.

If you must get intakes though, Injen makes a good dual cold air intake system that doesn't require any cutting. AEM is coming out with one too. Nice choice on HFC's by the way.

Congrats! Can't wait to hear your thoughts once installed!

Cutting is really a strong word, the Gen 3's just require minor enlarging of pre-existing holes in the composite core support, you're not doing heavy modifying or removing pieces.

But yes, if your goals are immediate forced induction, worth waiting, but if your plans are a while out, you'll definitely feel the HP gains from this kit, on top of the CBE and HFC's..

Here's a pic of the enlarged holes:

its going to be loud but sound great! I just put on a set of test pipes I'm sure with the cbe it'll be much louder than my setup, make sure you post vids. Don't get intakes if you are going f.i. patience now for power later.

It's a nice sound improvement but not LOUD. Just....more noticeable .

The Ingen CAI isn't any walk in the park either. You have to destroy your wiper fluid reservoir to install theirs. Hence why I'm holding off on both, since I don't need extra HP over 7k RPM much.

You don't have to destroy anything for the Injen intakes. You replace the washer fluid bottle with a smaller one included with the intakes. Nothing gets damaged. I have the Injen intakes on my car.

does a trouble code or warning light go off if you take the whole bottle out? Not to jack the thread, but I put on a cf hood, washer system doesn't work with it

I was told you have to cut across the neck of the OEM washer bottle to install the new one. Nice to know if that's not the case.

You don't have to cut it to get it out. I never did install the Injen replacement one though since I decided to leave it out all together for front end weight savings... I suppose thats a fail on my part. Sorry for the misinformation.

Yeah -- if you want to use your wipers, you must slice.

No want wipers? No slice.

Ah thanks for all the info, on the injens you have to cut the neck of the oem bottle but.. it could be replaced with a stock bottle right? I mean you don't cut the assembly just the bottle? sounds a bit easier to do. Then again opening up those holes doesn't look to bad I guess.
