Are ISR Shorty Headers Equal Length?
I can't seem to find any anecdotes of people using them. They seem to be equal length like the Z1 shorty headers for a 3rd of the price, and they still retain the VHR and HR flanges.
I like how my 09 Z currently sounds with the berk testpipes, which is the model year that had equal lengh exhaust manifolds. Thus, I feel these headers fit nicely with my goals if they are indeed equal length. https://www.isrperformance.com/isr-p...vhr-350z-370z/ |
The ISR doesn't have the merge collector like the Z1 header does. Both use the same primary diameter tubing.
Z1 has proven to provide a 16whp gain from this thread over stock. https://www.myg37.com/forums/engine-...er-thread.html I saw someone local retune his car after installing ISR shorties with 3" intakes and gained 12whp. same dyno, different day (things to consider) |
Oh that's a decent gain if he had testpipes prior. I actually contacted ISR themselves, and they stated they tried to make the piping lengths as close as possible to equal, but they are not truly equal.
Regardless I ended up purchasing isr long tubes instead. The ISR shorty's weren't in stock for another 4 weeks, and I can assume ill get more gains going to the long tube route especially, since Im doing 3in intakes and and upper/lower ported plenum/ intake manifolds. Dont assume just because your going long tube you will see more gains.
there are dynos where there were very minimal gains on long tube headers Quote:
