Greddy Evolution GT exhaust drone
I bought this CBE used off of a guy that was really low so he had it welded together at the Y pipe and was wondering if this was the cause of all the drone in the setup or if it was just common even on unmodified Evo GTs. I'm running stock cats right now, is there any possibility that switching to test pipes would reduce the drone? I love the sound of the exhaust other than 2800-3500rpm where all the vibration and noise is.

It’s got terrible drone with windows up. Stock cats, HFC, and ART pipes. I had all 3 and drones like crazy, so bad with windows up the interior panels rattled.
Switched to HKS hi power and I can comfortably ride with windows up now. Greddy sounded awesome with windows down but too much drone otherwise.

Yep, I had mine for 3 weeks and sold it, terrible drone and resonance between 3k-4k RPM. Greddy explicitly states EVO GT is designed for Turbo cars, and it shows, the 3" piping creates too much resonance in an N/A car.
You best bet is to run OEM catalytic converters, modify OEM Y pipe by welding couple of resonators and install that instead of Greddy Y pipe. Or just sell it to someone else who loves drones. |

The GReddy GT Evolution exhaust system is indeed intended for forced induction applications. However it's also suitable for a bolt-on build. If resonance and drone is a problem, you could better insulate the trunk as most the exhaust sound comes from there when sitting in the car.
