Twin Loop Mufflers

Do you guys know of anyone who has twin loop mufflers installed on a VQ37 platform?

I'm looking into possibly upgrading my G37 sedan's Invidia Q300 2.25" chambered muffler catback to a 2.5" system that is still fairly quiet. I like FI's 2.5" catback with 18" resonators, but it's still a bit too loud for my tastes. Maybe if I had them swap their mufflers with twin loops it would tone it down a bit?

Also I'm just curious in general how our engines would sound with a twin loop muffler setup. On my G sedan, there's quite a bit of room in the rear section to fit one up in there.

Great topic

Hey OP, I've no experience with them, but the only example I could find was the EVERCO Twin Loop exhaust for the 350z.

The design seems to have been popularized by Mugen. There are knockoffs made by OBX, but you don't see too many twin loop mufflers for V6's and above. Our cars don't sound like normal V6's though..

Maybe this provides a unique sound for the VQ37?

Thanks for the reply. For those interested in how twin loops sound on the VQ37 platform, I will be swapping my Invidia Q300 mufflers for twin loop mufflers in about a week and also getting a dyno on August 3rd, where I will be comparing the difference between the chambered Q300 mufflers and the twin loops.

I will post the sound clips and dyno results here:

I'll be watching very closely.

You're about a month ahead of my schedule for doing the same. Did you get the OBX Twin Loops, or will these be a custom twin loop design?

I just went from OEM to 2.5in piping w/ Flowmaster Resonators. Sounds horrible, but the Flow FX Resonators created a deeper tone than I expected. The next step is to try Twin Loop mufflers to tame the rasp, and keep the deep rumble. I'll send clips of before and afters.
