Help Me Pick An Exhaust

I can only pick one, help me choose!

Looking for slightly deeper sound from stock but obviously no drone/rasp. Also looking for a very minor performance bump.

The car only has a short ram K&N intake. I won't be modifying anything else on the car besides one of the exhaust mods above. I'll consider a tune after the above is done.

Fast intentions. Resonated midpipes. Replace the cats with resonated Hi-flo cats while you're in there.

Fast intentions will get you more power than Invidia, can be quiet or loud depending on resonator size choice. Axle back would be LOUD - you're deleting a muffler, even if you do get resonators.

Ark Grip.

It has the deepest tone and with the exhaust poke and beautifully welded cans it will make your car look very mean from behind.

I would have put Invidia and FI as two separate categories.

It would be a good idea to hear some exhaust sound clips or better yet hear someone’s Z in person that has an exhaust you may like. Exhaust is very subjective here since everyone likes something else. I have always enjoyed a loud exhaust I would install the AAM Competition S Line short tail exhaust. The AAM Competition 2.5” high flow cats would be nice! Have a tune done on your Z you will be glad you did.

I ran Motordyne ART pipes for a long time on a Greddy Evolution catback. I've since switched to Fast Intentions resonated test pipes on the same catback and I prefer it much better this way. Motordyne is quality stuff, but it sounds deeper @ idle and all the way through, and for whatever reason, I can hear the cams more with the FI pipes.

I've definitely been on the hunt! Might have to go to a meetup or something.

In the mean time I think I've watched literally every YouTube video on the above options. But I don't think the videos are a good representation of real world sounds.

While I think I would like this setup, this seems like it will cost more than $2k in parts. I'd rather pick either the FI resonated HFC or the FI resonated CBE.

Keep an eye on the forum classifieds. They show up there once in a while.

About three weeks ago I ordered a Fast Intentions CBE and the lead time is long.

I am looking at early January to receive my set up. Just an FYI.

GTHaus Exhaust! Your welcome!

Whjaxn17 09-25-2020 10:25 AM

Just about any good exhaust is going to have a wait time and the current politi...economical landscape is causing serious supply chain delays.

There was a thread here that had an in depth comparison of most of the aftermarket exhausts here. Even had sound. I can’t find it now, but it’s here.

This might help.

It’s worth the wait.
