Stillen CAI
Yes, I have read the stickys and talked to Stillen.
I would like to know what are the benefits and disadvantages between the dry and oil Gen 2 intakes from people who have them on their cars. |

The different between wut??
If you are asking about the difference between dry filters and oiled filters, that is completely unrelated to the intake design or brand. A quick google search will provide you with all the answers you'll ever need. Basically, oiled filter performance can be affected by too much or too little oil, although with the proper amount they tend to filter smaller particles better. Dry filters are much easier maintenance, and some high quality ones perform nearly as good as an oiled filter. I use R2C filters whenever possible

You mentioned R2C filters but didn't say why you liked them. You said the dry filters are easier to maintain, and I am all for that. I would also like to know the difference in sound while under easy and hard acceleration and at a steady cruise. |

I like R2C because they make excellent dry filters. At least that's the conclusion I came to after extensive research. YMMV.
Very few people are running the Gen 2 setup these days (Gen 3 is far more popular), so you probably won't get much feedback in that regard. Try searching.

Don’t have any experience with the Stillen Gen2 CAI other than I know the air filters are easier to replace or remove and clean. I believe that rather if you prefer a oiled or dry air filter is more your preference as you will never feel the actual difference in performance between the two. I have experience with the Stillen Gen3 CAI and it has been proven on the dyno to make whp and wtq on our Z’s that is why so many Z enthusiasts use them today because they work. The only thing with the installation of the Stillen Gen3 CAI is you must remove the front bumper cover for installation which doesn’t take long at all to remove. The K&N air filter the Stillen Gen3 CAI uses obviously flows air well even for being a oiled air filter. Stillen highly recommends replacing or removing and cleaning your K&N air filter once per year under normal driving conditions.

Thanks for the link, Cooltoy. I am not even considering something like the Stillen Gen 3. I just want a little better breathing, and a little extra sound would be nice too.

If you decide to not go Gen 3, I'd suggest you stay stock and replace the filters with better ones. Just my 2 cents.
