Test pipes is this normal?

I took off my old test pipes and they have some scratches on it and some minor superficial dents. Also, they looked like they got red hot at one point

Test pipes is this normal?

I took off my old test pipes and they have some scratches on it and some minor superficial dents. Also, they looked like they got red hot at one point because they became blue near the part going to the headers. Is this normal?
