Metal Sounds From Invidia Gemini Exhaust?

Hi fam,

I just installed the full cat back -Invidia Gemini exhaust for my Z in 5 days.

The sounds is deeper than the stock, of course.

However, I can hear a " metal sounds" from the muffler when I stop the car at the red light, sometimes on the road, but not too loud.

The sounds disappear after a while the car running. I am not sure if that is because the exhaust is still new and in " break in " condition?

The exhaust I bought is brand new, which no damage.

Will the sounds disappear after the break in time? Or I am the only one who have this problem?

Metal sounds? Like a rattle? Or a grinding sound? A pinging?

Check for clearance around the center body cross brace.

I had a similar issue but not the same exhaust. AAM S-Line here. For me this turned out to be a clearance issue around the cross brace in the center of the underbody. A welded stainless piece of bar stock that secures the dual pipes together was vibrating against the brace. I grabbed some spare silicone tubing and wrapped the small stainless bar with it and secured it. My metallic noise abated.

You might check there. Hope this helps.

Agreed. Put the car up on jacks and once you're sure the exhaust is cold, run your hands over all the piping to check for points of contact. If you have points that contact, you can order some aluminized fiberglass adhesive heat barrier and adhere it to the part of the car contacting the pipes.
