Default Berk HFC Install Went OK

So I installed a set of used Berk HFCs today on my car. The install went OK. The new ones went on great. The old ones... I ended up messing up the thread on one of the original cats. And on the other one I broke the bolt head off on accident (which made it a lot easier to remove). Damn those bolts are on there freaking tight. I ended up breaking two 3/8" swivel joints. Ended up using 1/2" swivel joints and extensions. The nuts holding the cats on aren't that bad but those two bolts are insane tight.

Anyways the car feels more responsive now and sounds little better (stock exhaust). Now just need to get an exhaust!

You are very local to us, about 15 minutes to be exact. I have many exhaust options and will set some time aside to give you a walk through of the shop if you like. If you are interested in our exhaust systems, please do not hesitate to contact me...

Thanks, Tony

Good to hear the install went well!

Just to let you know I'm pretty much a granny with my car. I've only hit WOT a few times since the Berk HFC and TDX 12" install over the summer. You can put these HFCs to better use hehe... but I miss the hissing sound off throttle.

You can't go wrong with FI TDX either

[EDIT] Breaking the factory studs of one of the cats is normal as they may have cross threaded them. More importantly, I'm happy you didn't report any issues removing the O2 sensors. Surprisingly my installer never broke the ones on mine.

I love my berk HFC's
Get ready for a little bit of rasp from mid pipe when you get your exhaust though.

Damn, yep on both cats, that top bolt you take off from the top of the engine bay busted off. But the started to turn and about halfway thru loosening them they tightened up and then busted.. not even sure how that happens.

I know your pain...took me a cutting torch to get one bolt melted off.

Any idea why the bolt might be cross-threaded from the factory? If it wasn't for those two bolts this install wouldn't be so bad.

And my o2 sensor came off pretty easily... no issues there. And no CEL

I don't think mine was cross threaded, but I did see one spot on the threads that it was burred up. My guess is Nissan didnt "design" it to have it come off
