Look similar to Injen, but what is the grey piece between the pipes?

I was wondering that too. It looks like some sort of foam, maybe a cushion or something temporary from mounting?

that's the bypass valve in case water gets into the tube. why does the tube say nismo on it?

AEM is manufacturing the intake for nismo... i asked them the same thing when i first got it back.. so its basically a AEM intake.

That is ridiculous since bypass valves negate all the gains and takes away the whole point of having a CAI. I sure hope there is an option to take that out because unless the entire filter is completely submerged under water, the bypass valves do nothing and at that point you're f**ked anyway. I'm willing to bet that with the bypass valve in there the gains will be very minimal.

Any input from the butt?
So is this design basically the same as the Injen, just AEM so maybe different pipping, that grey piece?

yeah but i can see why if they're making this for nismo they would need to slap that on. Any part that's made for oem application needs to cover their own azz from all those bs lawsuits. That's why if AEM is manufacturing this for Nismo....i will just go with Injen.
