Tomei Expreme Y-back Exhaust Sound - Stock y-pipe vs Tomei
 

Hi Tomei Experienced People!

I just ordered a Tomei Expreme y-back for my bone stock sport 370Z. I have had a hard time finding any videos of what the 370Z sounds like with the Tomei y-back on a bone stock Z vs. the amount of videos with the full Tomei header back system.

Has anyone heard both in person? I assume the y-pipe makes it louder overall but is there any distinct sound/pitch changes? Im debating whether I need it to keep me making an :O "oh face" when I downshift or accelerate haha

It's loud, but bearable for most, as long as you leave the rest of the system stock. Stock cats and y pipe will keep the sound clean, a bigger y pipe will give it some throat but nothing too crazy. It sounds good but it's not for everyone, especially once you go test pipes or HFCs. Plenty of Tomei videos on YouTube as well..... Reread your post, test pipes make the Tomei twice as loud as with stock cats.

I'd recommend you find a Y pipe with a resonator TBH. A small company names Thaitanium makes one who's doing a group buy. It's a titanium piece with two resonators. He's running a group buy. You can find him on FB. Not sure if he has a forum presence. His name is EN Sukkert or something like that.
