It just depends what vendors you favor to each their own I say. If you plan on going FI I would definitely consider the AAM Competition VQ37 Performance Intake Manifold would be worth installing and is a quality intake manifold and not worth installing NA in my opinion. If you plan on going NA the Motordyne or Z1 intake manifold would be a better choice in terms of whp and wtq to be cost effective. I wonder what the CJM billet intake manifold will have to offer? I think the CJM billet intake manifold will be worth waiting for!!

Also, the from what I can see, the insides weren't even cleaned up. There are left over aluminum flaps right by the intake inlets.

Yup, totally worth 2 grand...

Yep. That's a piece they shipped out to a customer. I do believe it was sent back and fixed or totally replaced, but that never should have gone out in the first place.

They are expensive. Of coarse I mean total cost. I would insist on having an AMS Carbon fiber intake at the tune of 8k. LOL

I beg to differ seeing how I met the people how produce the AAM Competition Performance VQ37 intake manifold their quality control is actually very good and any issues with their intake manifolds they manufacture will be corrected immediately aspecially with their valued customers in the Z and G community. This intake manifold is by no means cheap either 2K+ depending on what options you want. Also don’t forget the AAM Competition Performance VQ37 intake manifold is proven to make power on our VQ37HR platform I seen this for myself on the AAM Competition dyno and supporting big power on FI set ups.

with that

You met them. Congrats to you

Too bad that doesn't mean shìt. Have you seen the photos or read the horror stories? Those are evidence of lack of quality control. You have absolutely no basis for promoting them other than your own experience. You are only one person and there are plenty of others with a completely different experience. Your ability to ignore all evidence contrary to your claims sure makes it feel like you're on their payroll or something...

He’s not on their payroll. He just likes supporting the worst vendors in this community. He’s also over in the Evo-R thread with Jay’s **** all the way down his throat. He hasn’t been here long enough to see all of the ******** these guys have pulled, but he thinks he knows enough to make a recommendation.

Seriously, with that flashing how can there be any mention of quality control other than there being a serious lack of it. Even worse, because the manifold comes from a mold this most likely wasn't the only example of this.

As for it making power, I honestly don't remember anyone showing it made any. One forum member posted a Dyno with it, but he had the manifold done along with other mods at the same time and the numbers he produced weren't any higher than a typical FBO car (his was NA as well). I don't recall seeing any FI cars running this.

Exactly. It's 2 thousand f*cking dollars and I presented you w/ pictures of how they shipped it out. That was 1 of, if not THE first 1 of those they shipped to a customer...and it went out like that. Hell no. Someone else posted a picture of a turbo manifold they shipped out w/ a runner that was almost completely blocked off. There's no way in hell I'd be spending $10 on any of their products, much less $10k after seeing some of this stuff.

That is what I am leaning towards right now, again thank you everyone for the information and keep it coming if there is more out there. I will be working with a local shop pretty soon to get the stroker kit installed once that is done I will need to start thinking about the intake manifold.

Well the pics certainly convinced me not to purchase aam products. I for one, am tired of incompetent people and it seems like there are more and more of them in the world!

Just throwing another option out there. This is mad expensive and doing the GTR conversion would be the better choice.

I have this manifold on my Z … they actually used my car as a test mule when they were developing it. I was without my car for an additional 9 months as a result.
I also had the unique experience of having to deal with them for the 2 years that my car was there at their shop.
It ended up being a form of never ending torture.
And, I never did get to drive my Z home from AAM because they blew my new built motor on the dyno and then sent me a bill for $5,000+ to do a leak down test and pull the heads to inspect the rings.
They didn't get my $5k and I pulled the car out of their shop - this wasn't the only shady dealings I caught them at.
Here's another one of their 'new' products that doesn't work … the Twin Fuel Pump <<< Stay away from that one too>>>
I am now finding out that the reason that they haven't posted any dyno results is because this manifold doesn't increase power, but loses it...or so I've read...and that sort of fits everything else I've come to expect from them.
To recap : I spent $2k on this manifold (ahead of time) on their glowing promises of increased performance and reliability - then lost 9 more months while my car was in their shop - then they blew the motor and tried to hide it from me - then had to pull the car out of their shop which resulted in another 2 year delay in addition to the added expense of having to start the build over again - yup another small fortune again since the heads were damaged and needed to be replaced.
Yup, I can't recommend AAM to anybody.
As far as the upper management goes … keep a close eye on your bill when dealing with them, as you will find many an error - none of which will be in your favor … overcharging and double charging were common...and it's not your imagination.
If you find Mike patting you on the back and offering you a sponsorship you can be sure he has his other hand on your wallet.
AAM used to be Altered Atmosphere Motorsports until they were run out of town due to excessive customer complaints and shady business practices. Their customer loyalty ceases to exist once the bill is paid or they realize their latest cash cow <you> has dried up.
