It's 90F in california? WTF!

Also, sorry to say, I'm skeptical those intakes allow that much gain. Something seems fishy. Hmm, what does "SAE 1.0 / SAE 1.03" mean between runs?

Are you saying the dyno isn't from your car?

spearfish25 01-06-2010 04:21 PM

Why are the dates on the dynos "12/18/2009" if you did this yesterday (1/5/2010)? Also not sure how the air temp went from 82F to 90F in 90 minutes.

no it's not my car. the intake was under development for like 8-9 months or something. i believe i was the first one there to get tested. i posted the dyno of my car in a thread that i can no longer find, otherwise, i'd post that picture here. i believe the gains were 11hp but that dyno did not display torque gains.

i've talked to the rep that has been working with me on this and this dyno is basically the one they will be posting on their K&N website to be displayed.

this was a very long wait. and for me to get a dyno now would be a hassle, because i've already gotten the INVIDIA exhaust so i would have to get my old exhaust (stock) back on and then off...

What do the K&N intakes look like? Are those short-rams?

update the 1st post with pics. looks like short rams to me. it was REALLY dark out and i couldn't see a thing. so i was just snapping away and picking with ones looked decent to post.

m4a1mustang 01-06-2010 10:17 PM

Something is not right here. And I bet the hood was up for those dynos which is going to give any short ram system an artificial boost.

arcticreaver 01-06-2010 10:20 PM

lol i guess we gotta wait and see if anyone else is getting a k&n intake and run dynos and see the difference from stock

That's my thought on it too - there's no way short-rams will get those kinds of gains without something being amiss...

I mean the car...stock...basically has cold air intakes.

370z4Steve 01-06-2010 11:56 PM

really nice gains if they can be repeated on another car..although the initial stock reading seems a little low

How much are these intakes?

370z370z 02-01-2010 11:53 PM

ask em if they work on the nismo

the intakes don't have a price yet. they are working on that.

as for the nismo, i've just sent an email to them asking about it.

RavenRonnie 02-02-2010 01:05 PM

what is involved in the installation process. Is there any drilling needed?
I think they look good personally. I know they don't typically gain as much, but I like the looks of the shorter intakes

arcticreaver 02-02-2010 03:10 PM

there was no drilling done at all. i think the whole process took about 45 mins to get it installed.

update - as for the Nismo, K&N is getting a Nismo in sometime this week. they'll update me with more information later.

Same engine and engine bay. Shouldn't be any difference at all..

RCZ 02-02-2010 08:33 PM

umm....anyone else go "riiiight"?

If those gains aren't fabricated, then those are the intakes of the century...but I think we've seen enough short rams come and go to know this is most likely bogus.
