FI Cats Noise and SES Code
 

Hey guys,

I have a Fast Intentions exhaust with 18" resonated X-pipe. It's been a good run since 2012 and I put about 50k miles on it.

For the last few years the cats had a little weird rattle at low RPM, but a few months ago I got a p0430. The code keeps coming back a few days after a reset and the rattle noise got a little worse than before. The noise sounds like there is gravel turning in the pipe or like some 18 wheeler truck engines. It only happens when the car is warming up on a cold day at 1400-1600 rpm and when you drive around the parking lot in low gear on low rpm.

Do you guys know if the cats are repairable by some muffler shop? Have you ever had a similar experience with HFC failing like this? I tried the good ole google and it found nothing =(

It sounds like the internal structure that holds the catalyst has broken. Don't know if it can be fixed or not.
