Best headers flow

Hi, I'm about to change the headers/test pipes part of my exhaust. Without considering the cost, does anyone has a feedback about which of these two settings has a better flow rate :

-ISR longtube headers

-Z1 headers + Z1 test pipes

*Z1 doesn't produce anymore longtube Headers...

Spooler 02-18-2019 06:59 AM

Z1 has never produced any longtube headers. I have never heard of ISR headers so that should give you a clue about them. If you are looking at long tubes the only 2 on your list should be Fast Intentions and IPP. The search function on here is your friend.

The PPE longtubes headers were the best headers I installed and was quite an improvement. The heat shield is a pain in the rear to get out. The evil bolt is never fun lol. Headers are labor intensive and will take you longer on your first install generally depending on how fast you work but take your time though took me 8 hrs. to install my headers the first time around good luck.

Install headers on our Z’s can be pain staking work.

You want best flow or best power? :icon14:

There are 3 LTH's. PPE, FI, and Motordyne. Motordyne are the new kids. From the little I have seen from them. They're not bad. I have the FI's.

The right side will take you less then 2 hrs. Depending on you skill level.
As said above. The left side is a PITA. The heat shield can be a PITA. Figure on about 6 hrs.

Sorry for my mistake, I realized that I confused Z1 with Stillen when I said that they don't produce headers anymore, and it was for 350z instead of 370z...

And I though best flow was synonyme of best power ?

So until now, nobody has feedback on the z1 Headers+test pipe vs PPE longtube ?

Thanks for your answers !

There was a dyno posted a few years back of the Z1 headers. I don't recall what else was done but it's somewhere in the forum

PPE, FI, Z1, and Motordyne all product power. Each one has it's pro's and con's. No one has done a any testing to see which one is best. Like A vs B vs C.

In fact, Moncef from admin tuning claimed that through all the setting he tested, the PPE are the best, excepted that he never tested on a Dyno a combination of Z1 headers and test pipe. There is a big chance that I'm going to test that out, cause I already got my Z1 test pipes.

Last month I installed solid motor and transmission mounts so I removed my cats and exhaust to give me a little more room to work. While I was there, I thought I might as well do the headers because everything is pretty much off.

Keep in mind I have swaped the motor in my civic and swaped the transmission in my Ford excursion.

I got as far as removing the header heat shields when I realized this just was not worth it. The lack of working space and maniacally sharp heat shields made my hands look like I was a UFC fighter. And to make matters worse, I couldn’t just run with the heat shield removed because they were wedged between the fender and headers. I was forced to reattach them. I lost track of the hours I spent and how much blood I lost.

This is why I plan to have MA Motorsports do this work for me.

The driver side heat shield is a ROYAL PITA.:shakes head: The left side took me 45 minutes to do. The right side 6 hrs. Yeah, my hands looked like and felt like they was in a fight with one very pissed off puty cat. :shakes head:

There was one good thing to come out of it. At the time had a client who was being Charged with armed robbery. It was a court-appointed case so of course he did not trust me. But when I went to visit with him in jail he looked at my hands and almost gasped. I can’t tell you why, but from that time on he always respected me.
