Thought that you beat the crap out of your clients if they didn't pay up. :rofl2:

+1 for the Z1 headers and ART pipes

I'm curious what the collector for the Motordyne headers look like in comparison to PPE and Z1 as those two are similar. But would the Motordyne headers be considered short tubes and not long tube?

a 10 second google search, something to the effect of "motordyne 370z headers" brings you here...https://motordyneengineering.com/pro...straight-pipe/

I understand they label it as long tube, but looking at the where the merge is I was curious what constitutes long tube vs mid vs short. Even in this thread, FI is saying PPE is considered mid-length. I was also curious is anyone has photos of the merge on it.

But the MCR headers are similar to the Motordyne so I suppose.

There may be a more technical, official way to describe the difference, but to the best of my knowledge, it's a matter of whether you cats/test pipes are separate pieces or not. In long tubes, that's all 1 piece. I've seen the term mid-length tossed around, but I'm not sure on that.

Z1 are shorties, using separate test pipes. FI long tubes bold directly to your Y pipe or whatever on your catback exhaust.

FWIW the Motordyne headers paired with a single exit exhaust make these engines SCREAM. If this car wasn't my DD I would 100 percent run this set up.

Also between these options you're sweating over a difference you will not even feel, it takes more than 3-5hp. Go with what you can afford.

Ahh, logic!

Just don't say stuff like this on the Facebook groups! Anything that doesn't produce the highest HP output is considered garbage and a waste of time..... HAHAHAHA

It's hilarious how they argue over 1-3 hp, and never acknowledge that the difference could just be normal run-to-run variance of the dyno.

That part of the Z crowd is weird to me. "Let's spend $100/hp!" :inoutroflpuke:

Yeah and then they want to bitch and moan about tire prices and "how did my stock tires only last 10k miles and have steel bands showing? And NO, I don't run the car hard."

Suuuure, buddy.

Fast Intentions does not mention, nor do they appear to be, equal length. They do mention “firing order specific” which I’ve read is a term that’s not really used anymore.

I went with Motordyne and will have Swain Tech coat them. I was happy with their exhaust, liked that these can also have a Helmholtz test pipe, straight pipe, or even a HFC.

The pipe portion is shorter than what a normal test pipe would be. So they are kind of mid length, but they made the test pipe section as short as possible so the header portion is still pretty long.

I went with the Helmholtz test pipes in hopes that gets rid of anyone unpleasant frequencies.
